You will feel the engine be a little 'cleaner' throughout the rev range, esp. picking up out of the bottom and it will rev a little higher. Driven correctly there will be a slight mileage increase. But, if you yack the throttle, point-n-shoot and just hang on for the ride...you won't tell much difference. |
I just got a P5XL and put it in my buggy. How hard is it to turn the flywheel by hand before the first startup? It seems like the engine is locked up at TDC and I can't get the flywheel to budge by hand. My starter box comes in the mail tomorrow so I wanted to make sure this is normal before starting up the motor.

its perfectly normal just follow the break in guide youll be fine treat it right and its one of the most easy to tune reliable motors youll ever own plenty of power to.

just remember to preheat to at least 200 degrees....

and what i do is after i shut it down make sure the piston is at bdc and then i loosen the glow plug a couple of turns....but make sure it is not at TDC when it is shut down....cause when the engine cools down the piston will get stuck and it is a mofo to get undone.

I'm going to break the engine in on Saturday so I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

What are the differences between each of the different P5's? X, XS, XL, XLT, etc.

whiterice.....Nova has a new Toro team engine coming out..and is changed to have more bottom end and a ceramic rear bearing....The FMS has a rear ceramic bearing and a filled crank....i am actually looking at trying the new toro, but we love the FMS it is just stupid fast in a truggy.

2010 PURPLE POWER GO:lol: OH AND THIS JUST IN ..after looking at the new p5 tech sheet and exploded view ...it is shimmed at .80 as opposed to the the 2009 p5 which was shimmed at .70 ....so lay the 30% to it out of the box ....dammit i always get the just last years models ...p5xlt and +4c respectively ...and if i havent said it yet ...i think ive found my new motors for life ....after the way my p5 has done through breakin and another half gallon ....purple power all the way .... |
