i have no doubt that over 6gal should be easily attainable. I've seen some racers get 10+ out of an engine. I'm a relatively new Novarossi owner, so i havent gotten enough race time on my engines to tell you my personal experiences, however my brother got 5 gallons on his N21BF before he replaced the front bearing. Even the 'cheap' N21 rod and crank were in great condition and still well within spec.

Got 10 gallons out of mine before the rod went. After replacing the rod it went another 2 gallons before the wrist pin pulled itself out of the cast piston. I was really beating the piss out of it those last 2 gallons though. Ran very consistent throughout the 12 gallons as well.
Also how are the P5XL (Turbo Plug) engines? I just seen they are pretty cheap and have great reviews.. But i see they advise 25% fuel, what do you think 30% will do and how long do these last? |
Novarossi engines are the best!!! No other brands can beat them in both durability, power, value for the money, materials, tuneability and runtime... and close to no other brands can beat them in just one category!!!!

My p5's last about 6 hard race gallons although they still run...I can pinch them and put a new rod and get more....Bearings are fine...but mine need new rods at 6 gallons no question... |

I use to run 30% but went back to 25% as the extra power and not to mention wear on your engine wasnt worth it so am now running 25% cheers |

Novarossi recommends 25% for all of their engine. You can run 30% without any problem in them. Some like to shim the head more during breakin, but the stock .70mm should be just fine afterword |

the P5XLT is an AWESOME engine. My brother has one modded by PowerHouse in his RC8B, he let me borrow it one weekend to try in my RC8T, it was AWESOME in my truggy. 2 weeks later i had one of my own. Stock ones are great too, seen a few around and they haul the mail.

Don't all Novarossi engines comes with 2 alu (0,3 mm) and 1 cobber (0,2 mm) head shims? :). After the break in you should run 0,7 mm if you are running 25% nitro.

I had a regular P5 last right at 10 gallons with only a rod change years ago. Here lately I don't own any motor long enough to wear them out.
I have a nova plus 21-4C now that had 3 gallons on it and was resized and rod changed. Hoping to get at least 4-5 more gallons out of it. |
