Don't all Novarossi engines comes with 2 alu (0,3 mm) and 1 cobber (0,2 mm) head shims? :). After the break in you should run 0,7 mm if you are running 25% nitro.
... and a hotter plug after 2 or 3 gallons if you run 25% nitro :tire:

So dont touch the shimming and just break it in and rip on 30%? What plugs are the ticket for night racing at around 70 degrees and day around 85? For winter, and up in high 80's to low/mid 90's in summer? Thanks for the help. I think im home in this thread already..lol

Question...

What would you guys do if you had 18 brand new O'Donnell #97T 1/8 Off-Road Medium Turbo Glow Plug's [ODO97T] and had a Bonito and a PLUS.21-4BTT. I live in El Paso and the weather is not cold and hit like 86 degrees yesterday...I ran this plug in my FMS and had "some" spares when I got back into the hobby...lemme know :tire:

Hi,

what is the average runtime of a plus 4 btt in a buggy?
I´m just thinking about an engine which is capable of doing 10 mins pitstops.

I am wondering why Jerome Aigoin is pitting at 7:30 with his BTT although everyone says that it would be no problem doing 10 mins pitstops.

BTT/41021/2084 in a truggy did 12:53 on a dusty track today with about 5 gallons on it.

i would say that if your FMS liked them in those weather conditions, your other Novas will too

Sell the odonnell plugs and buy some NOVAROSSI c6tgc plugs. Get a few c5tgc plugs for temps below 50. Your engines will thank you.

Tell you to put them in a small box and send them to me to use. So you don't have to look at them any more.:lol::lol:

What do you think?

ABN Hoosier 10-23-2011 06:24 PM

Yeah Bro, send me your addy, I will send you something....:sneaky:

Honestly, is there really a big difference? Bigger difference then the price of 100% more between the C6TGC and the 97T plug. Need honest suggestions.

merdith6 10-23-2011 09:39 PM

Yep

The 97t's in particular have been terrible...I wouldn't say all OD plugs are bad, but those are....

I saved a few Nova turbo plugs that came in my engines, and when I realized my issues were the plug I brought out the c6 Nova plugs and have not looked back...

I hate that they are like 11 bucks, but they do work much better.....and last longer...

Coming from p3 if they last just as long, or longer thats worth the extra buck!

Hmmmm, anyone else want to chime in on the O'Donnell 97Turbo medium plug compared to the Novarossi C6TGC plug?

I just think there are a lot of variables to just discount the OD plug. Fuel type, tuning ability of driver, weather, probably a few more. I hear you on spending a few extra bucks on a plug, not being cheap. Just wish there was like a material comparison, kinda like a dyno chart with the plugs.....would be interesting.:tire:

You make a good point about variables. When I was reading your post I realized I still use the 97t in my plus-4 engine. It's kind of a milder engine and is not as tough on plugs like my insane 7 port engines. They spin faster and are a little more picky to tune and really showed me just how much better the Nova plugs were, the filament is just better material....It can withstand the abuse....but the 97t is ok for a p5 and plus-4 in my opinion....

I'm sorry I sounded so negative about the OD plugs, it's just irritating when the plugs make you blame the engine. Just buy one Nova c6 run it until it dies, then do the same for a 97t. You will be shocked...Or run each plug one run and inspect the filament....that will tell you everything...
