STEVE307B , I have had other engines with that design. There WILL be a small space betweek the carb and the case. Just push down on the carb neck firmly while tightning the pinch bolt. The beveled out part on the engine case cradles the O-Ring and is where the seal takes place. Never had any leaks on my engines with this design. Thanks......

"NOTE: The Werks B5 now includes the re-designed "2010 Model" Werks Carburetor. The "2010 Model" Carburetor is a completely re-designed aluminum carburetor that has been developed and tested over the last 2 years in real world racing conditions. This aluminum body carburetor features a two needle design, and a carburetor neck insulator, to provide a more stable tune, idle, simplified adjustment and a greater level of consistency compared to the carburetor that was previously included with the B5. This carburetor uses re-designed venturi inserts compared to the previous composite carburetor, so the venturi's intended for use with the composite carburetor are not compatible with this model."
i've had a B for bout 2 months....does it have the 2010 carb..??

Alex, we have been testing a new carburetor design off and on for a couple of years now and finaly decided to go into production with the new unit. This is the new 2010 aluminum carb. The main features of this carb is that it maintains a more consistent setting as well as a more consistent idle. Is it night and day different between the composite carburetor? No. If anything it's a subtle difference but as always with us if we figure out a way to improve and engine during it's production life cycle we roll in those features during the next production run. I'm a big believer in continuing to improve a product while it's being made not just releasing something and then making it obsolete in a year or so and releasing a completely new model. Hope this helps explain things a bit.

Regards,

Ron

Steve,

I do not have the new carb'd engine yet. However I would assume that you have made your best efforts to get the carb to seat. I have other engines that were the same as you describe where the oring on the carb neck does not fit in the crankcase. I may be able to answer this better in a week or so when i get an updated engine. I think you are good to go.

Thanks

Team Orange, I replied to your mail. All other PM's should also be replied to, if any of you have not gotten a responce please re-send your PM and I'll get back to you!

Regarding the slghtly gap on the new carb with the o-ring that is nothing to be concerned about.during development we ran the carbs without the second o-ring (the one at the base of the carb) as the main seal is the o-ring in the case. So you can either press the carb down and tighten the pinch bolt (which will leave a 1/2mm gap) or you can remove the o-ring and run it without if you prefer. Either way will work just fine!

JCathey, thanks for posting a pic of the 2010 version of the 2013. Nice couter tops by the way!!!

Thanks, I have seen it run (mines still nib) and it kind a scares me LOL

Thanks for you help guys regarding this question earlier. What about simply going from 30%, to 20% fuel? Would fuel be a safe easy way to help tame things down a bit, is there a downside to doing this?

Thanks 871

Does the new 2013 pipe set still have the same manifold? Just wondering as it is kind of difficult to get a long sweep type manifold tucked in an mbx6 mud guard.

Yes it still has the same manifold. You can quickly alter the bend on it by using 2 socket extensions. One in each side and a little pull and walla!
