So Ron, I noticed the B5 now comes with a new all aluminum carb? Give us the scoop!! Can this new carb be used on the original B5's?

Merry Christmas to you too!

ya, ron.......2010 carb..?? when was that introduced..?? off of a-main...
"NOTE: The Werks B5 now includes the re-designed "2010 Model" Werks Carburetor. The "2010 Model" Carburetor is a completely re-designed aluminum carburetor that has been developed and tested over the last 2 years in real world racing conditions. This aluminum body carburetor features a two needle design, and a carburetor neck insulator, to provide a more stable tune, idle, simplified adjustment and a greater level of consistency compared to the carburetor that was previously included with the B5. This carburetor uses re-designed venturi inserts compared to the previous composite carburetor, so the venturi's intended for use with the composite carburetor are not compatible with this model."
i've had a B for bout 2 months....does it have the 2010 carb..??

alexrckid 12-25-2009 08:16 PM

ron....is this the p/n(WRXTL21161040) associated with the carb (2010) on the latest B5's as indicated on the a-main site..??? or, is there another p/n for the "2010" carb..??? thw description for the WRXTL21161040 sez that it's a composite piece......

I have had a couple B7's and love them. But I just got a B5 from Amaine today to try and when I was putting the carb on I noticed the rubber O-ring around the new little plastic sleeve. Anyways it seems like the O-ring won't allow the carb to sit all the way tight to the case. I dont recall this O-ring on my other werks engines. I really tried to get the carb seated down tight but there is still like a 1 to 2mm gap because of the O-ring. Just wondering if this is the way its supposed to be. The case is eased out a bit where the carb inserts but not enough for the O-ring to fit in. When I take the ring off it fits in nicely. Any input on this issue would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey guys. Can anyone give me some starting points on the needles for the old carb? I've been having a hard time getting it to run right. I'm near rev race here in socal. The B5 came with no paperwork so I have no clue where to start. From my memory when I ran teh B5 last having the LSN flush seemed too rich.

Thanks guys.

I got the 2013 pipe and OD99t plugs.

SMB17 I am in socal also and run a 2013 pipe with werks 30% my high needle is about 3/4 turn in from flush and the bottom is about half turn out from flush. I have 2 B5'S and they are both like this in my buggy and truggy.Got about a couple gallons on them and they both always run perfect. Hope this helps............

Anyone got the New B5 yet with the plastic sleave and the Oring? Just wanna know if the carb is supposed to have a gap between the case because of the oring. Im pretty sure thats how it is after looking at it more but would just like to hear it from someone else.

Adim_X 12-27-2009 06:46 PM

Steve,

I do not have the new carb'd engine yet. However I would assume that you have made your best efforts to get the carb to seat. I have other engines that were the same as you describe where the oring on the carb neck does not fit in the crankcase. I may be able to answer this better in a week or so when i get an updated engine. I think you are good to go.

Thanks
