I finally got out to do some Nitro racing again and noticed the XLT doing something I thought it had already done.
Seems that it finally dropped it's nuts. Yeah I know, should have been running it more this summer. That darn Work thing kept getting in the way. Anyway, general weather for the day was a high of 78 and afternoon wind, partly cloudly. Humidity was maybe 20%. I had to keep leaning it out all day. Everytime I ran it it would come off the track at 209-212. Lean it out a couple of hours and recheck it and the same temp range. All day long like that, not that is was a bad day doing so. Just didn't seem to want to keep any heat in it. I thought back to when I last ran it and remembered that the tuning had changed while I was there and took some time to get it back.
I figured I'd need to retune some for being back at elevation, but wasn't expecting what I encountered. Run time also improved per tank even running at 209-212. Smoke was good and it had power, but took a few laps to come in and didn't seem like it was on the pipe, but close.
Question here is that if it in fact finally dropped it's nuts, will that change the whole carb tuning or more so the top end? Not sure when I'll have it back out again to continue to lean it out a little at a time to get it closer to being right. Weather man is saying the overall temps for the area is supposed to get colder and possibily some snow.

do not "just" lean the top , pay attention to what it is doing off throttle and initial throttling after idle

Hey Monty, sorry i made a typing error! I did mean Novarossi 2084ss, not 2094!
A couple of my pipes are dented. I have a 2084ss, 9901ss, 9853, and was thinking about getting a new pipe, but with all Novarossi's choices I don't know which one to buy. Can you give a brief summary of power band and runtime on the Nova pipes?

low end to high end
9853ss - most bottom but great everywhere including top end and mileage , used mainly for truggy or power hungry buggy drivers
2084ss - more mileage based version of 9853ss , great truggy pipe where a lil extra mileage is needed or a greatbuggy pipe when a lil extra power is needed
9901ss - "THE" buggy pipe of choice for most all novarossi users , great smoooth power delivery with good top speed and great mileage (i have been liking this pipe with 41021 for truggy only on the X7)
2096ss - the best of all the pipes , it has what are the best attributes from all the above and gets better mileage to boot , been loving it in buggy and truggy , mileage mileage mileage
9886 - unfortunately this pipe is not offered in ss , it has the most top speed of all listed but the least mileage , awesome high speed track pipe

I had kept an eye on the bottom end some on Sunday while at the track. So far the idle has been steady and everything seems to be where it should be. Though the bottom end was feeling like it was a little fat, but with it running well, i left it alone. After leaning out the top end almost 5-6 hours for the day I stopped and left it alone until I got with you. Plus the race day was short and I had to work later that evening so I didn't get a lot of time to play with it after the racing was done.

2 pipes a novarossi engine owner should have.. after my 1 year of testing.. 9901 and 2096.. with 21 header... and maybe the 05 and 01 [ shape headers for tuning options... no real need for the 20 header.. those 2 pipes were just fantastic in truck or buggy.. depending on track.. no matter what engine... for me was plus 4C, FMS, FMS HT, X7 HLX...
