It is unfortunate in today's consumer world the only time we here about a business or service it is usually in the form of a negative comment about what should have be done, how poorly it was done, how long it took, or I got ripped off! I would just like to say that from my experience with Monty and Houston’s Engine Service, this could not be further from the truth! This is from a guy who is a perfectionist and has over 25 years in the business of sales and service.
I met Monty like a lot of people on the Houston’s Engine Service forum about a year ago. I had been reading the forum for about 6 months. I kept asking myself who is this Monty guy? I was in the market for a new engine for my buggy and decided to send him an email. He actually responded almost immediately and in fact when I called him he actually answered his phone! Not once, but several times before, during, and after the sale!
At the end of last year, I decided I wanted my 4PlusC modified. I contacted Monty and again Monty was there with service and support. And believe me I had a lot of questions. Not only did I do the engine mod, I had him fill a crank from anther engine as well, and I bought the 12 volt Competition Heater from him. I think when it was all said and done we had over 100 text messages before the deal was done! Now that is service!
I took my engine out of the box last Friday night and mounted in my buggy track side Saturday PM for my third qualifier. I did not touch the tune and it was a monster! Power from top to bottom. But controllable! I will be running it in the Psycho Nitro Blast here in Georgia next month.
Thanks again Monty for you help and patience! You da man!!

Monty,
I have around 1/2 a gallon through my 21-7fms now and love the engine. Has great power all the way through. Had a problem yesterday though, the fillament on the 97t plug broke. While running it in my truggy something suddenly didn't sound rite. I pulled it off the track, pulled the plug and the fillament had broke up inside the plug and was dangling. I am crossing my fingers that none of the fillament actualy fell into the piston/sleeve. Going to tear it down today and find out. I have been running the engine around 225 deg. HSN a tic in from flush and about 1/2 turn out on LSN, still running a little fat. I guess I've been fortunate enough I have never had a fillament brake before. I think for peace of mind I will go back to the old faithfull c5tg or c6tg nova plugs. Turning it over by hand it still has great compression. As far as the enginge goes I love it, great power and idles well. Say a prayer for me.
