Thanks for the feedback.I already run a hott mod p5xs with a nova 9886 pipe and long header and it screams from bottom to top at around 190f and gets over 10 mins on a tank.I hope the new engine will be allittle smoother on the low end.

thats is unheard of , p5xs/9886/41021 @ 190°F getting 10 min. runtimes , hmmmmmm interesting . can you actually run 10 min pits during races or are you just refering to occasionally getting 10min practice times?

anyway , i hope you love the engine

lean it a few hrs. on top

I ALWAYS run my Novas @ 240° to 260° and have good longevity, my last 21-4 was at 6 1/2 "REAL" gallons and it was dialed when I sent it to Monty for inspection/maintenance, right Monty

Hi btw Monty...

yes it was in very good shape

some engines do run at those temps and some want to run hotter , but 10min pits at 190° thats what is baffling me and i am not easily boofled

Well to be honest I have run 10 min heats and didnt have to pit but im easy on the gas because I dont race alot, but I let a local pro spin my buggy around the track last season just for practice and I filled the tank, put it on the track and he drove balls to the wall until it ran out at 10.32 mins.I temped the buggy after i got back to the pits and it was at 160f.I know it lost alot of heat but everytime i run the engine it comes off around 180 to 190f.He was very suprised with this engine, because its a big, loose track and not alot of engines get that good of mielage on this track. sorry for the spelling lol.

This engine runs very cool for sure. The funny thing is a freind tuned it for me at the farm for nitro blast/preworlds in 08(i dont race much lol) and i havnt touched the needle since,I race in north GA so the weather isnt much differant but it never needs a retune. We tried to lean it to get a higher temp but it didnt like it lol.I used to have a rb s7 that liked to run at 190f also,so it might just be the weather around here.Anyway novas are great engines and I will never run anything differant. Thanks for a great engine Monty and I will let you know how the new engine runs soon.
