Thanks PitPop and ScottyM.
Need to have my 2013 pipe welded up again then... broke the front end of the pipe last year. Pushed the "nose" in and cracked it around the mount. Not the easiest to weld back together i'm afraid  |

Being a current racer of a Discovery 5-port I'll have to agree with PitPop 100%.. The low end is nice, not soft, not harsh, just about perfect, with 2013, The mid range is much like the Tebo/King engine was described. Top end might be lacking a bit, but not alot..

Keep in mind mine's still a bit rich, but I think 10 minute pits in truggy could be doable.
Thanks  |
I got my mte all broke in and race tuned, still a bit rich, but tons of power. Not really thrilled with the 2013 pipe, but I am running oval, and need a high speed pipe. I was averaging about 4- 5 minutes on a tank. We run full out all the time though. I have a 7.5 restrictor in it and a works medium pro clutch. I use byrons 30%. I think I am going to drop to a 6.5 restricter to increase fuel mileage and decrease the power a bit. I love the motor easy to tune, has way to much power, and a lot of bottom end. I like the fact that it has a lot of bottom for coming out off the corner, but in a way there is to much bottom. Hopefully a different pipe and softer clutch will help. All in all its a great motor and I am very happy I bought it. Thanks for all your help! You guys are great!

2013 is a bottom end pipe. Get a 2057 and you'll find some more RPM's out of that engine, and a bit better run time.. Tune is harder to perfect, and bottom end will suffer, but running oval bottom end won't matter much to you..

I have a jp3, dynamite 007ht and an rd logics turbo 2 that I am going to try on it. Can't keep spending money, so if it doesn't work for me I will make the car work for the motor. Thanks for the suggestions guys!

I would actually say a 2058 would be the best..it retains much of the bottom of the 2013, but makes more HP and RPM then both the 2013 or the 2057......It actually feels like a 2013 with a killer top end....

thanx your post. good job.

Pitpop,
Is there a current replacement piston/sleeve for the Cody King edition engine? Just trying to figure out the difference from this engine to the current 5-port. Thanks, Mike Jackson |
