I have used odonnel plugs with mine before 97t's i believe. |
I have about a quart and a half through the motor now and what a dream it is to break one of these in compared to my last nova btt. The thing idles like a dream. Cant wait to let it rip this weekend.

I know this may have been answered in the previous posts. ( I did look and was unable to find) What is the main difference between the orion .21 FTE and standard .21 motors. Both the FTE 3 port and 5 port motors are considerably more expensive than their non FTE counterparts. THank you!

Flame out
Ok I'm having a weird flame out issue. I have a Orion jerrod tebow addition
Today at the track it flamed out about 4 or five times. It would seem to happen in our double double section in the air off the second double. When I would give it throttle in the air to leval it out. It would just die like it ran out of fuel. I would just get a waaaa. Then nothing. Dead. Change glow plug didn't help. It also did it a few times comming off the bridge down back to the track. It always was random though didn't do it every tank and not alway in the exact same spot. Also once getting into the throtal on the strat it gave a pop out of the pipe then took off. It would always start right back up. Any answers would be great!!!! |
Hey guys wanting to get one of these motors to put in TKI3 what motor should I get I was thinking of putting the 5port
|
Just curious about peoples thoughts in this break in method,
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_66...tm.htm#6635894 It's heat cycling but all done at WOT. I usually drive it at 1\4 to 1\2 throttle slowly building up to WOT which is different to the post above. Has anyone used this method shown in the link? |
What's a good con rod in place of the team Orion? I'm not feeling the 80 bux for a rod but have heard others will drop in...werks??
|
Bump?!
|
if i were to bet on a rod that would work, it would be an nVision.

I need some help guys, looking to buy a new engine and i can't make up my mind. I'm considering Fusion X3L, Nova 21-4btta, and the Crf3 port, I"ll be putting in a rc8b.2 I've never run a Orion engine so I dont know anything about them. Can someone point me in the right direction.
|
All 3 of those are good engines. I have the BTT/A and the Orion 3 port, Took the BTT/A out so i could break in the 3 port this weekend.
A local has a 3port CRF and it run strong, more power(a lil more on the top end) than my BTT/A, and very smooth like it too. So far, the BTT/A has been one of the best engiens i have owned, i'm eager to see how my 3port compares. I have no experience with the X3, although i have seen them run, and they also run well as they are nova based. |
