I'm thinking about getting an RB BXR or BX engine to replace my Nova Plus4T. I'm leaning towards the BX since the BXR is a bit expensive. Any feedback on this engine?

My Nova has around 17 liters and is still good, with good compression and no flame outs.

I have a BX w/ 2097. I like the power. The top and screams. Mid-range power is insane. But I'm not getting the best mileage. On at large open track I'm almost bone dry at 7 minutes 15 seconds. We have 7 minute qualifiers and the last two events I've not finished at least one of them. I'm running 7mm insert. Steel clutch, 4 shoe 6075 aluminum shoes, medium springs. I have 2 gallons on it now. Same car clutch on my B9 with a 2045 pipe got me over 8 1/2 - 9 minutes on a 5 gallon old engine.

Anyone else getting subpar mileage on a BX with the 2097 pipe?

Is there better pipes to try for mileage?

The Danish RB drivers has struggled with flame-out this season. The BX and BXR engines has to have a little richer LSN than e.g. Novarossi. As always its not the engine that is the problem - if you ask me. None of the RB drivers would try Novarossi C6TGC plugs, and I think the plugs also could be a major problem. RB released the V3 plugs in february and Special buggy plugs i August... Why? Due to plug problems?
If you're not running Novarossi C6TGC plugs you shold get the newest RB plugs.
Mileage is average.

LSN? Don't know what it means...

What about OS plugs? I've been using them since day 1 on my engines (2 novas), the mileage is average (8.30/9mins) and i don't have flame outs! So is 7mins an average mileage for the BX or we should expect more of it?

I' know several guys who is more into RB than I am. The colder plug you are running, the leaner you can run the engine and therefore get better mileage. Hot plug gives more stable idle and a little more torque

a question, wich one engien have more runtime?? B11 or new BXR? same conditions

Well I'm going to try the 2087.... and see.... Maybe get to try it next weekend.

2087 vs 2097
 

I recently bought the bxr w out the 2097 pipe. I installed the 2087 pipe that came w the fire 11. The engine is still in breakin stage but it seems pretty good. I'll wont know how 2097 performs cause I don't plan on spending on a another pipe. Can anyone tell me what the difference is in both pipes?

So far after running a liter of Byron's 30. I'm running 200* and getting 8.5mins on a full tank.

How did you like the 2087 on the F11? I been using the 2045, tons of bottom. I tried the 2087 on a C6, same as a B11, it sucked on the C6, really have not heard anybody the likes that pipe.

I have the clocked version of the fire and I used 2087 originally then I tried the ofna 086. Strangely, I liked the power band of the 2087 more. It seems like the 2087 gave me more top end. I have yet to try other pipes w the fire 11.

try the 2058 on the F11....

I think I actually preferred the 053 to the 2058 on my (stock) Fire 11. I've put in a 7mm venturi now to test, so we'll see how that goes. If it doesn't positively affect the way it runs, I think I'll go back to the 053 pipe. I really liked the 053 on the Fire. Never timed it exactly, but it took forever for a tank to empty too.. Seems like it got better run-time than the 2058, and had a somewhat wider tuning window.

Remember the 053 pipe is not EFRA approved

I Am not a fan f the 053 pipes....they lack top end on most engines
