ok i might have to retune, since i kept on leaning out the low end neddle to stop it from loading up, but it changed after i put a new plug in there was still a light smoke out of, the pipe but while i did lean the low end out i did richen the main neddle about 1/4 of a turn ccw.
now i did get cooler out when i retuned it. |

You can start doing that now just take your time the motor well go flat rich during practice, Qaul, Main sometime its around the 2nd or 3rd gallon you just never know when. Its not going to hurt to lean it out 1/4 or one hour at a time. Just get the power your need to clear all jumps and are happy with. Dont be scared to get it to 245-250 temp wise. If its got good smoke Bottom, mid and top and your happy run it. Im sure your going to get alot of gallon thru that motor before needing another.
ok i got you yea i was, leaning the low end out about 1/4 or a bit more . i did run diffrent when, i used the new gallon so i did retune it. the old plug was, giving me problems it was something wrong with it. with the new plug it did, give a constant idle but it might of been a little high . since i been messing with the low end. |

You did GREAT bud riching up the the top when you got the bottom right. You were leaning out the top-end to get good power because the bottom was to rich. You want have to do much retuning bud. Your almost Dead on you tune.
thanks now i did change, me clutch bell to a lower tooth and when it finally ran right with the new plug if i remember i had a enough power from the turn to the end of the straight, away the last time i race was about 2 weeks ago. |
Once you tune the low-end to idle good turn down the idle gap Screw to lower it to a nice low idle. You should be about dead on with you tune now the top-end may steel be rich or be perfect it depends on the weather next time you run. Speedy

ok cool i think my idle gap, was about 1 mm so should it be at .5 mm i have heard about the hole should be open to the thicknest of a credit card. but i can tell when the idle, gets higher once it gets around 200 @ or so. |
1-2mm is correct. It idles up more when it gets to 200? How long does it take to drop down and stay when you run it hard and Stop. 3 mississippi or 1 missi or staight down to a good idle.
|
Fully warm the engine up to temp. Bring it in to the pits and listen to it idle if it idle great for 3 seconds then drops lower the bottom end is still rich. If it drops right down to a good idle is perfect if the idle stay up the whole time then yes because your engine is new the idle gap may need to be .8-.9 to idle nice and low. Trying to explain everything to best i can for you.

that sounds right thanks, i did stop end from loading up even though the whole time i, was trying to tune it and the plug was bad. but the new plug i can, let it sit and i wont load up or flame out like the others times. |

i only heard it when it, was running at a lower temp when it was off the ground so it proberty wasnt at 200 @ yet. i think it was a constant idle if i remember with the new plug. |

Ya a bad plug well throw you for a loop. I run odonnell plugs Rbs love them turbo or standard they Great and cheaper than all other companys. I get my turbo plugs for $5 and last a good gallon or more;). I wise you and your new rb motor the best of luck. Now all thats left to do is Win some races:sneaky: and have some fun:sweat:. Speedy
yea i use the #100 odonnell, plug its a stantard meduim plug with 20 % eb mods fuel race blead not rtr blead. i just going to use the rest of my 2 gallon up. i know why the first one dint, last long it was manily because my low end was too rich . the surface on the plug was, brown but i dint check the coils which were proberty bad. now about winning races, i do race in the sportsman truggy class im not bad im just not constant and the flame outs dint help with the driving lol. i did win one heat race and tq. |

Congrats on the heat Win. You well get constant over time. Flameouts Never help and that why i love rbs get them tuned in and you well Never flame again. Rbs are great motor and well treat you great. And yes a rich bottom-end well Kill a plug so fast. Now that you about dead on tune i would change it every 3-4 races or every gallon.
thanks i did run a nova .21 bf last year, so im kind of fimilar with itatian engines and yes my s5 is made in italy the box says it and its defielty faster than the bf .21 . yea the plug should last longer this time one thing i did do was, change the stok carb o-ring to a nova thick o-ring. and i am running the 86 pipe, on the s5 on the truggy and it did feel like i needed more punch with the low end tuned right its a green/gold alum med 4 shoes. so the next time i might run the gold/gold setup on the losi. |
