Itcan very on how you have the engine tuned as well as the size of the track you run on but the normal it from 9:30-11 min. of run time the pipe you run can make a big difference as well we recmond the Trinity Ex-Tech Big Boy 2056 pipe.
I always tune the engine about 240F. My two tracks are little with much slow corners. And the pipes that I have are: dynamite 053, 086 and OS TS2060.what do you recomend me of this three pipes?( thinking in my slow tracks..) Thank you very much. ops ops...another little question.... this engine what glow plug use? Can I use, o'donell , racers edge glow plugs?? I am tired to buy the expensive OS P3 P4 for my problematic Vspec. Thanks friend!! |
Of the 3 pipes you have the first version extech made the most power on the 086 of any pipe tested, Never tried the 053. But i can say that I never lacked for low end grunt on the 086.
|
haveing run the 053 and the 086, it seems that the engine was missing something! and about 2 weeks ago i found out what it was missing. it was missing the big boy pipe.the big boy just seems to add more to the engine all the way around, but keeps everything smoother than the other pipes

For plugs we have come to like the os p4 and when i got cold we tryed the p3 to see what it would do and there was no need we just stick with the p4. |
So, I just ran about 1/2 tank through the "Bat" pipe. I am running it on a Jammin JPX .21, which is the mill I will have for Truggy @ MotoRama (will be running ET's in my buggy for the summer :D) Anyway, all I can say is...WOW! Now, granted, I havn't had it on a track yet, so I can't say right now what it will be like in racing form...but just beating around in my back yard, there's a huge difference compared to the JP3 I had on it. Nice low burbling idle, bottom is solid, SICK mid range to top. All in all, I think Im gonna really like this exhaust and can not wait 'til Friday to practice on track! :sneaky:

While they do put about 3 tanks through it before it get's shipped out it's still a good idea to put a couple of easy tanks through it preheating it before starting before you run her to hard. I'd rather over break it in than run into problems later on if you rush it. Enjoy it when you get it, I just broke in another the other day and I really am impressed by the quality and performance of these motors.
I see the big boys a 2056 so il run an 053... |
IMHO, if you're going to be running on tracks with long straights, try the FM. If you're on smaller tracks or tracks with lots of short run ups to jumps, stick with the Pre. If you're still undecided, consider your trigger traits. By that I mean, do you have a light or heavy finger? If you have a heavy finger, it might be worth while to try the FM as it has a more smooth pull. If you have a more ( don't shoot me for this choice of words, please :P ) delicate finger more of a finesse it around the track, you would probably be fine with the Pre. :)

If I ever descided to switch mills, it would be a Extech. Chad really helped my buddy out a PNB with a new piston and sleeve. His motor went on day one. Chad hooked him up, we broke it in on the bench, and it ran like a scalded dog the rest of the weekend. No money, no questions, no B.S. just here are the parts and good luck racing. You just can't beat the Service Chad is giving. I ran one of the Old EB Extechs:o:o and thats why I switched to RB. I will look at the Extechs again since Chad has taken over.

Raced my full mod .21 yesterday & am very impressed. Still tuned a little rich as i tune for longevity more than absolute top speed. Had a rough day so had to go to 10 min. b main & what a hackfest. Was running second on first lap landed a double into a turn & the guy behind me just plowed me & turned me around then the next 3 or 4 guys turned me over & piled on top & stalled the engine. My pit guy restarted engine i went into panic mode & ran truggy pretty hard & still didn't pit the whole 10 mins. I was the only one that didn't pit. Still had just a splash of fuel left. Very impressed w/ this engine. Will buy .24 for my cen matrix tr as it is a little heavy. Thanks Chad & trinity for a good product.

i was lookin for alittle feedback on this motor. i was thinkin of gettin one for my 8t 2.0. so what i was wondering is does this motor have enough power for the truck and is there any issues i should know about. i was at motorama this past weekend and saw alot of guys running them. thanks for the info.

This engine seems to have plenty of poop and a broad powerband. I wouldn't fret about running it in a propperly geared, realatively lightweight modern truggy like your 8T 2.0. It ain't a Hellfire or an LST.... |
all the engines i saw were in buggies. i didn't notice any in truggies. i was lookin cuz i would have ask them what they thought of the engine.
