I think I might have to whisper in Marks ear.I wonder if it will fit anyway.would be better in MG black though.Just ordered an MG66 X as a backup engine anyway..we will have 5 MG's running at our club this year ..was gonna take a look at the track today but as it's minus 9 outside I might just check the lambs again and get back in the warm ASAP instead..

Some interesting comments;

as far as I know, it fits. Will wait for confirmation tho.
yes agreed, would be awesome in black if thats an option to run the new head button, if there are advantages to doing so and if it's confirmed that it fits the MG in the first place.

I notice that there is no Ti-Ni coating on the crank ? are they going away from that with this engine....

And yeah, a black and red one would(will:rolleyes:) look sweet !:nod::D

it's a lot better for moding the crank that way :sneaky:
i hear that the black n red is the next update to stay ahead of the rest :lol:

I am not 100% certain on this but from what I understand there is a coating on the crank but it is transparent. Maybe like some sort of silicone or something.

Ti nitride coating has been replaced with a new clear coating. It's supposed to last longer and have less rolling resistance (smoother). Some of our factory driver engines had the coating in their team motors.

Additionally, the crank is CNC'd and ramped at the factory. Sleeve is modded as well.

mill looks great though i wish they had kept the flames.
just wondering do the pins and slide valve also have this clear coat or is it just the crankcase??

I was told the new crank coating is clear and better than the Tin.

Will we see new pipes with these engines as well?

Not initially. There might be something in the pipeline later in the year. Nothing definite yet as far as I know.
All the testing appears to have been done with the 2072, so it will be a good match until something better comes along.

The coating on the crank is clear, and has some low surface friction properties, so less wear around the bearing areas etc. All sounds good ;)
