Go-Tech Engines Thread

Hi Adrian, cheers for that plug info. 2047 was not bad, but at my level I don't think I would get any extra advantage out of it over the 086 and 053 Dynamite pipes I already have. I bought some GS "Team Kit" parts to strengthen the truggy up instead (I think it's going to get a hard life this year !!), plus Santa let me have a CL-1 Pro Buggy kit which I have just finished building. In the process of running in GO engine number two for the buggy at present. Now I just have to sell some of my old stuff to restore the bank balance

So did these engines used to have carb problems? If so are they fixed? My buddy had one and it never ran right out of the box. I thought I remembered reading about some guys jb welding some parts of the carb or something silly like that. Got a link for a good place to buy these? Thinking of picking one up for the summer so I can try it out for myself and see what all the hype is about..

I don't know if I'd say carb problems per se, but there were a few design revisions in the beginning. My Go was one of the first ones shipped in the States, so when the updated carb was released I picked one up. However all that was straightened out early to mid last year and anything shipping now is fine.
Think I found the problem with my buddies 7 port that's been having problems. Looks like the idle gap is way to small so I'm guessing the low is way lean and the high way rich. The black on top of the piston kind of says that's the answer too. So I think I'll get this ready for him so we can see what the go's really do. If they are what everybody says I'll have to decide between a 5 port or a 7 port.. What's everybody seem to like the best?

Thanks for the info. I read some more in this thread and found that was what happened.

petevette,Yes i got a race tune on it. I ran this motor this past sunday and did well with it! The motor was a little lean on top but a few hours and it was where it needed to be! I am after the 5 port now!
