Me, I guess i'm going to throw in the towel as
far as my GO engines go. I'll hammer all five of
them until they blow and use them for paper weights.

:confused:Thats sad to hear you guys can't get the parts you need, It's 1 problem we've never had over here so there must be something going in on in the background between the factory and the US distributor.

something I guess we'll really never know the truth about

It's a big fckin problem! Me I love the engines, getting parts in the U.S. almost impossible. But here's who to try. amain ,22racer,fx racing in canada. and of course mark from massive mods. mark has everything just make sure you have a big order to make it worth his while for free shipping. If not it is like 6.00 u.s.dollars minimum. It may take a few extra days to get the parts but you know you will get them. The fastest is if 22 racer has them. I would like to see 22 racer have some sort of web site to see what he has in stock. Evidently he has an in with russ jones, who I understand is a nice guy but has never been able to get me parts. And he's our u.s. distributor. He is working on a new web site so I am hoping we will have some thing nice here in the u.s. for go techs. I have a feeling with race factor putting up the new web site we should be able to get a fresh start for us go tech nuts here in the states.

tagalong_74 08-01-2009 10:27 PM

rage trust me thats the best thing you can do. Its ridiculous to get parts for them here in the states and they are just too unreliable. I put an rb s7 in my buggy and havent had to touch it EVER. Unlike the Go-Tech which needed major overhauling almost ever 2 gallons. This rb will run for 5 or more gallons without even needing a rod

mattwoodcraft 08-02-2009 04:43 AM

matt i hope it all works out over there mate , we are very lucky that we have Mark here thats for sure

Jeff (Rageworks) I ordered some wrist pins for a .25 and they came the length for a .21. I think I have 1 or 2 if you want them and I'll see if he has more.
One of the problems is that the factory is overseas and Russell likes to put together big orders to make shipping worth while. He has had an order in for a while but is waiting for the Go factory to get the new gen 6 motors done so everything can ship at once. With the economy the way it is I don't blame him on not ordering too many motors. I hope he stocks up on parts though.

I don't blame him I would do the same thing. Are they done making the gen 5.5 engines?

randystang 08-02-2009 08:35 AM

I got a GO 5 port new p/s, crank is good it had an os carb, i put an RB carb on has like 1/2 gal now metal pinch is gone, cant seem to get it to run decent under 270, my friend runs them at 290 and screams is this right or should i try a different carb. at 270 how long will it last?

rageworks 08-02-2009 09:17 AM

Things get to a boiling point and I unleash the rage
sometimes guys. Let me tell ya, Russ is a lucky man
to have a guy like 22racer (Rex) doing every thing he
can to cover his ars for him. 22racer is a stand up guy
and is doing all he can to keep his customers happy.
I wouldn't have bought so many GO engines in the
past couple years if I didn't like them and have faith
in them.
As far as the guy who said that you have to rebuild
the GO engines sooner than a Novarossi or RB. I own
RB's, Picco's and others and no rod lasts longer that the
other, with the way most of my engines get punished.
Try running a dirt oval that has 230' straights and 125'
sweepers, with your engine on the pipe, wide open,
tank after tank. We stretch a rod in a good weekends run.
The RB's rod doesn't last any longer, as a matter of fact we
have had two RB's come apart. One snapped a rod and the
other broke a piston.

bigmatt 08-02-2009 09:20 AM

http://www.go-engine.com/go_engine-7.htm# they have listed the new go t ech engines.

slaytanic 08-02-2009 09:26 AM

They look like a sweet package. With a plug, full venturi set, and extra rod! Wonder what the price point will be?

I have the same prob (if it is one) with my 7 port, it runs 260-270 lowest I've seen is 243 but seems to run the best at 270. Question I have is, it ran 265 in my 3 5 minute heats but on my 15 min main it came off the track at 312. I could tell it was leaning out due to the fact I couldn't clear the big tripple anymore and loss of pep. Does anybody tune it a little on the rich side to make up for longer runs? I did open the HSN almost a 1/4 turn during our warm up thinking that may happen. I'm running a 7 port, 2 1/2 gal, 6.5 restricter, short needle mod, 30% OD in a 8b. Thanks guy's

add a shim to the head! You should have a minimum of 3mm. 1-2mm and 1-1mm
the other thing is you may have air leaks. either arond carb, carb needles, backplate. but I am going to assume you have already checked that. One last thing, check your idle gap! set it at about 1-mm then never touch it. then set the hsn 1/2 turn in from flush[this is for the gen 5-5.5 carbs] the carb with the red go on the front. then turn lsn in 1 full turn from flush. I also only use an os-p3 turbo plug or odonnell 77t. I do not use any other plugs as the engine takes a sht on me if I do. They like the hot plugs. But from what your discribing it sounds like you need a head shim.

Gizmatron 08-02-2009 10:07 AM

first bigmatt means 0.3mm of shims not 3mm..I run 0.2 on my 7 port with no problems..260-270 is normal but I won't use 30% nitro..I always burn out engines and it really doesn't seem to give me any more power..I use 25% now and mark at massive says he never runs anything more than 20% in his..And you should see the power results he is getting with his new biofuel which technically is only 7% nitro..I am so gutted I don't live anywhere I can get him to post some to...I would drop nitro % and richen the hsn 1/8..the mix tends to get a little lean towards the end of the tank..lower tank pressure and the heat from the exhaust tends to vaporize the fuel too..better to run a fraction rich at the beginning of a tank..

JMO, looks like GO is trying to sell engines by a flashy appearance. They should grab a brain and work on their quality control, this may help their reputation. Dont get me wrong, they make good engines but they are hit and miss.
Is the gold plating going to help?? I think not.
Again, just my opinion. :p
