I cant wait to try 1 on my new Powerhouse 3 port. I am waiting on mine. Just yesterday got the mill running like crazy its smooth but the band just keeps going and going, super fast. I am even thinking of trying a low end pipe on it. Thats what the mod job calls for well a mid pipe 053 2060 ect. But the 086 does just fine but I am supposed to see more economical fuel consumption and what not.

Bottom end bog
Just got my first GO , It's the 7 port with the 0801 GO pipe . I followed the painstaking break-in procedure. I ran it Saturday and took it easy on it in practice . before my first heat I leaned in to it a little and it ran good with plenty of smoke. For some reason about 5 min into my main it picked up a bottom end bog that kinda killed me. I still managed to finish 2nd in the A main. So I got it out at home yesterday and figured I'd fire it up wait for the bog to start and try to tune it out of it , The thing ran like a beast for the whole tank. It was cosiderably cooler so I am thinking that may have been it . I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts ? :confused:

It's probably because you just broke it in. New engines can be finicky until the metal is broken in.

I am also having a hard time tuning my 7 port
It feels good the first few minutes but after few more mins it starts loading up and boggs at full throttle I have to pump it to make in not bog for one lap and then again it loads up (high reving) I have a dynamite 053 pipe What can this be? The engine is about 2 gallons old tried the settings griz posted but it still does the same, no air leak, new odonell 097 plug If I cant fix this I will be breaking in the 3 port What pipe will be good for this 086 or the 053? what are the best settings for this motor? Thanks |

will try this tonite I used the odonell 77 but finished 3 in a span of 2 weeks so only had the 97 checked for leaks and everything is ok might be the lean top or the dirty inlet hole will post what happens what about the 3 port what settings and what pipe 083 0r 056 thanks |

Gotta run that top end pretty rich with the long needle carb, or it just doesn't work properly. |
Hey grizz as you know I put in tko bearings fr/rear in my 7 port. I just finished breaking them in. seams engine runs smoother. I don't think I needed the front,as I see everyone just puts in the center. so far no problems with the air that was coming out of the front seal.After reading and talking to people some seeping is normal at first. it's when it's running all over the place fuel that is and tune go's to crap. The other thing I was told when you blow air into the engine hard it needs to go some where, usually out the front seal as it would be the weakest point. any way it runs fantastic with these bearings. and the ofna bearing crank tool kit is very simple to use. Just use heat gun with it .

one thing I noticed so far is that if you running the 2047 with the 0801 header combo you wont need to change the muffler retainer with the 2072 as it will sit in exactly the same position.:cool: They are a very nice looking pipe but the reinforcement on the stinger could have been slightly bigger Adrian |

Thanks Put a fresh plug in and see how it goes. BTW Stock settings are FLUSH HSN AND LSN . The ONLY way to come to a good tune is not to try a recommended set of turns in because every engine fuel pipe tyre set up will require a different tune. So if you are in doubt reset to flush HSN and LSN then start to tune form the LSN first . Cheers MM |
Doc, some things I notice is that you try to tune your engine right after you fire it up, you need it to get a good running temp and then start tuning, other thing is your clutch, the one you are using is not good on the 7 Port, it doesn't feel good power, and that's why you probably have to go lean on your HSN, buy some Aluminum Clutch Shoes with 1.1 springs, that's what I run and my 7 Port is already very snappy with barely 12 tanks in it.
Dynamite 086 for the 3 Port, I would also suggest leaving your temp gun in your tool box and tune by performance lol |
