The 2047 has been the pipe of choice for alot of european drivers with the 7port. It hasn't been mentioned very much because the U.S. is not required to use 3 chamber pipes. Plus with the low cost and high performance of the dynamite pipes they seem to offer a good value.

Makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

the GO motors seem to run very cool, not to cool though but a safe lower temp range for sure, the 5 ports stock seem to be very good at 220 to 225 modded a little less, the 25 and 28 should be the same. If the motor starts to get to hot, it will let you know, or the plug will. and if it is new just give it time it will drop in temps, a new motor tends to run hot intill the pinch is almost gone as Russell stated. I have a 5 and 7 port that i have done for a customer with a gallon and a half ran between the two, and i havn't turned the LSN yet, and temps are about 220 on both, still fat and a little tight, but when they get free the carb get's leaned and temps come down.

the dynamite pipes are very good, I reccomend a 053 for the 7port and a 086 for the 5port, Also Go is realeasing there own pipe very soon, it is a 2047 and is mfgr'd by hong nor, so it has the same type of stinger as a Jammin pipe.
Nitro Junkie, a novarossi turbo head button should fit as well as any 4 bolt pattern .21 head button. If you use a different mfgr. you will have to check your deck ht. and make sure its set right. You would be starting from scratch with how many shims should be required. |

Probably moving to Go engines!!
Go 5 port or 7 port on a buggy? I do prefer runtime over power so i don't care which one is fastest, just which one will give me more time in the track than in the pits. Note that i come with v-spec experience so i want to expect similar runtimes and good power. |
The 5port gets slightly better mileage, It will have much more bottom end power then your vspec and pull more linear.

Ordering two 5-ports from my LHS tomorrow. One for myself and one for my brother's Christmas present

With the stock restrictor you should be able to pit at 7.5 min. comfortabley with both engines, run time for the 7port is around 8-8.5 min. and around 8.5-9 min. with the 5port. Some guys have gone 10 with the stock restrictor in the 5port but thats not common. To give you an example of how much a difference there is betweem drivers here is a quote from sgrid about a 7port that was run in an endurance race.
posted by Gary Kosits: We ran a Go 7P Turbo yesterday at the 2nd Annual GMK Supply/Wolcott Raceway 3 hour Buggy Burndown. The engine ran flawlessly with great power for the entire 3 hours - not a single flameout or hiccup. Perfect example of how much the driver is the variable. The most trigger happy of the four struggled to get 7 minutes. As the oldest and slowest of the team, they pitted me at 8:30 but said I always had enough that I probably could go 10. The other 2 were in the 745 - 815 range. Same car, motor, fuel track on the same day, under real race conditions. YMMV. They ended up 3rd place. Please remember that your engine will not get good mileage till after the engine is fully broken in at the 1-1.5 gallon mark. |
