Bearings feel smooth as butter still..So does the rod etc really but thats standard preventative maintenance..at the price of GO rods etc it's hardly a strain on the pocket..I check the bearings regularly and if I'm not running the engine for more than 2 weeks I open the back cover and oil the bearings directly to prevent corrosion..

your rite these engine parts are alot cheaper than other engines i have run in the past doesnt hurt to maintain to keep it running longer

Yeh I used to run an RB ws7 ..just looked on amain and a rod is 62 bucks (US $) + $8 postage..that works out at $89 AU..mark at massive wants $25 AU...less than a 1/3 the price and he'll throw in the postage on most larger purchases..wont even bother to compare PRS complete sets......

I run my buggy yester club race GO5 port and 086 pipe 13CB- I was happy with the performance of it it was a losi e8ight, HB D8, AE RC8 and me OCM. the main was 20 moin did have some bad spot and landing but its good and got the fastest lap on our track ohh my the go (still rich) is rippin like there is no tomorrow, the losi and D8 were far ahead of me but i just kept things consistent (not a pro racer first time buggy driver) I ended up 2nd lucky me th D8 flame out never got back again lucky for my first try on a club race. anyhow did assembled my buggy to day and I was not please on my clutch see images below can you suggest better clutch system? Im using answerRC shoes and 1.1 spring. they look durable but the spring ticks out of the shoe and hence getting my CB has this near center scrape. and the springs we're neere toasted at the tip any suggestion on a good set of clutch and clutch shoes??

running 3 alloy shoes and 1.1 mm springs is an agressive clutch set up and it can contribute to more clutch bell and shoe wear

the 5 ports in a buggy are very good and have alot of bottem end power you could try running 2 alloys and fibre choe 1mm springs or 3 carbon shoes this will smooth the clutch out engaging if the springs hangs past just trim it off a small amount it will not cause any trouble doing that ..

on my clutch set up i run a 4 shoe but 4 alloys 2-1mm springs and 2-0.9mm springs this set up for me works good and engages very smooth out of corners

thank mat I'm gonna try carbon shoes and the combination of 1 carbon and 2 alloy and with lighter springs. The spring then to be out .5-.75 millimeter when I first installed itI never realize it will end up like this.

any suggestion on a good clutch shoe setup?

Actually there is no reason what soever to use 1.1mm springs as the 5pt has plenty of grunt. Also with tighter tracks the hard springs tends to cause the shoes to slip as they will let the clutch to be fully engaged only at high rews. I'd go down on the spring to get the clutch to hold better. Then if you want IMHO the best clutch on the market Iäd go with M2C ( www.m2cracing.com )
Get the clutch with regular medium shoes and 0.95 springs and forget it for the rest of the season.

i would run 2 alloys 1 carbon to start with 1mm springs other people i know running buggy with the 5 port will run 3 carbon shoes witrh the 1mm or the 1.1 mm springs all depends really on the track conditions give it a shot 2 alloys 1 carbon more popular i have seen thats what i used to use on a 3 shoe set up

Much the same here .I run the RMV speed 2.5 clutch system so I can swop them round fast if need be..I run 2 alloy and 1 carbon usually but I have 3 alloy and 3 carbon set ups ready to bang in..1.1 springs for my 7 port and 1.0 on the 3 port..for clutch bells I found the longest lasting are the k-factory HD bells made from their ultra hardened spring steel..only 3 bucks more than the old standard ones but waaaaay tougher.And sure grind a little off your springs if they stick out but do it gently..if you get the springs glowing red at all while grinding you can lose the "spring" in the steel..another reason you don't want them slipping and rubbing the clutch bell..too much heat will ruin them..they will ether break or stick in the engaged position..either is a mess.

I run in my ptm 5 port a 6.5mm restricter all carbon shoes with 1.0 springs and have my throttle turned down to 65% and am just as fast as any other car out there on the straight. I actually dont like the fact that I had to turn down my throttle on the radio so I am gonna try to find a 5.5mm restricter somewhere or even a 5mm and put it back to full throw. I do like the feel of the TKO front and rears in there though. Just finally had my 1st big race of the year yesterday and came in 4th in the A. Not bad for my 1st time out with the new car. Between the 1st 2 heats I had to do alot of adjusting on the car to get it how I liked it then I was good to go.

ran my buggy Rc8 with the Go 21. 7pt turbo and of course it ran great again. The track was very abusive on equipment and was definitly a test on the motor. The motor ran 250 and was strong. Great power and kept right up with those rb, vspec, ninja and any others that were up there. Coudln't ask for more when I finished 4th out of 16 buggies.

I raced yesterday but forgot to put the GO#3 plug in my 5 Port - duh.
Last race was in heavy rain, so I am busy this week doing a complete strip down and replacing lots of bearings in my buggy that I only overhauled a few weeks ago. Still, it was good to get out on the track after a long break due to the weather here.
