Default Another Question: Front Diff vs. Spool

Hi all,

So, I was also wondering about the difference between running a front diff versus a spool. All I've heard is that the front diff gives the car more steering and makes the front end more durable, especially when it comes to driveshafts and broken spool cups.

I guess my question is this: What handling changes should one expect when switching from a spool to a diff (in front)?

Also, is a front diff worth the $60 (it's Xray after all ) as a tuning option?

Finally, what oil do people run in their front diff? I'm using the kit Xray 750 weight in the back.

Peace,
Samwise

I'm curious, though, do the 3.0F and 2.6R work outdoors as well? I plan to run in Monroe this summer. I'm kinda surprised that a car would use the same spring setup on a variety of conditions, granted that sedans have a zillion and one other ways to generate mechanical grip!

Peace,
Samwise
Ye the do...for me anyway.

I run the same springs low traction and high traction. Indoor and outdoor.

Default Old School Front End

Hi!

Anyone know if the old school front end by SpeedMerchant fits the 12R5.1?

Thanks!

No, the mounting hole spacing is wrong, and also the old school front end uses (3) 8-32 screws, where as the 12R5.1 uses (2) 3mm screws.

Hey kids,

I am clearancing all CRC products from Hobbytown Everett, right now all tires and parts left in stock are 25% off. There are still several sets of good tires in stock.

Do you have a 4mm top deck for a Gen XL, or maybe the parts to make a full box rear end?

I found an extra 4mm top deck going through my spares the other day, its yours for $10 if you want it.

Im in the tacoma area but I can have franko take it up to the hanger next time he heads that way.

Great racing everyone!

My dad and I had a blast, and I really liked the new Fantom Apex motor once the timing was set correctly. My battery doesn't seem to fade nearly as badly. It was great to watch Peter and Brian in the World GT class; those things are ballistic!

Anyway, I mentioned to a few people that I'm selling a lightweight Spektrum receiver. It's worth $100 and I'm asking $50. I'd love to sell it locally, so PM me if interested. If there's no interest, it will be on the Northwest For Sale forum soon or the general for sale. Again, I just want to give my buddies at the Hangar top priority.

Peace,
Sam
