yup, TM does have steel pinions and they're cheaper than the HC Alum...

i was asking about reviews on them in post #815 (previous page) but no one seems to be using them.

they start with pn 14122-15S for the 15T, etc...

Dario Twice Retire in IFMAR A-main

It was a heartbreaking news!!!

But.. TM must reconsider this Retire CASE.

G4 go upgraded to G4, G4+, G4RS.

But as more upgraded, G4 go more weak.

This Dario Retire in IFMAR is not first time.

Dario also retired in 2 years ago IFMAR.

TM persist too long about G4 Structure.

It is the time TM release the new structure 1/10 GP CAR.

it can not be guarantee that Dario will continue G4 in next IFMAR.

I tried no weights but just didnt feel good.
The red shoe also for me just didnt feel consistent through teh run.

Havent had much onroad track action this year besides the nats.
I have been racing electrics seeing there is more interclub competition.
Alos business has been tough so cant mess around with my cars as often as id like.

Yes Gansei, but what was it that caused the retirement?...

let's take a guess....

broken flying wing arm?......
stripped spur gear?........
broken front-side aluminum ED drive pulley ?.....
bent chassis? ( was he using the WC kit ? )

what are the odds?...

I disagree that they need a total new structure, the car is still very competitive ( look at the lap times )..... more like a "re-focus" - flying wing arms need a re-design, spur gears don't mesh properly etc etc....

Let's wait and see if Barry Baker gets to make some changes ! ( I bet he'll be suggesting a few!)

Just my opinion

SP definately aggree with you there.

The car is more than capable but some of the new "improements" are letting racers down with there reliability.
I have read on a good few forums of guys changing flying wing a-arms being chnaged to the older conventional arms for strength and durability.

yup...the G4 is a very good competitive car; just that quality of some of the parts needs to be improved?

at least TM make it into the Finals...there're other brands that didn't make it.

i had a few things to suggest while talking to certain people at TM.
one was flying arms, one was roll center adjustments.
and the car being fragile. but i say this for the track that i race on. i travel and didnt really have issues on a purpose built track with runoff. but every fornight im surrounded by piping, which kills the car even on the smallest impacts. so this is a reason why i have made a change, but not the full reason. was more timing than anything. if they used the same design as the G4S arms, but to lengths to match the rear flying arms, then the car will be stronger. a solid arm and the plastic quality and moulding all play a part in the problem. a solid arm will break before one with angular sections like the G4S arms. i didnt really have issues with spurs , just when using the 15t pinion, but some times it was good and sometimes wasnt.
while i welcome the new roll center adjustment design, the way it has been done , i see it too rigid. not everyone drives in a worlds event or nationals where grip levels are at a point you coulld run this setup.
i wish everyone the best with the new bits and future upgrades coming.

I have the G4S with a bunch of upgrades - ED Trans, rear end upgrade blah blah. It's basically a + with a bunch of K Factory stuff on it BUT, I have the original shocks. They are a complete pain in the arse to build and it now seems one has an issue as I just can't get it to build up properly, so I want to get another set.

Is there a newly designed set of shocks for the G4 that are easier to build and smooth, or is there another brand shock that is easy to build and would fit?

Im after the whole shock, bladders, shafts, piston set etc. Mush easier to just buy a totally new set. A part number would be great too.

Cheers
Aaron

Without a doubt - you need some K Factory "LX" shocks

Gansei : 밴더님 안녕하세요?

Is the G4RS THAT fragile? I personally only have slightly cracked my rear right arm (and that was in a huge accident with 2 cars t-boning mine simultaneously) in a season of racing, but to be fair, my home track is car-friendly with its low height semi circle dividers. Even then I've seen Serpents, Xrays and whatnot get their share of troubles in crashes.

Not really THAT fragile, but in a decent crash, at least 1 part of what I mentioned is more than likely to fail, whereas if you were to have a similar impact with say a RRR or Mugen you'd be able to just keep going

안녕하세요! 반갑습니다!

G4RS's front/rear sus and upper arm and F/R knuckle arm is more fragile than G4 Old parts.

frankly speaking.. i did not feel good point for G4RS new weak parts

LX shocks? Do you have a part number for these?

I have been told the RS version has new shocks, but are these K Factory ones even better? I want shocks that are easy to build. Ive never had so much trouble before and the E4's shocks are awesome and so easy it just frustrates me even more.

Cheers
