Don't stare at it too long, you might hurt yourself.

Does anyone know a good starting point on the shock lengths?

stefan,

How do you like the monotuning tires?

Default Help! Should i replace Piston and sleeve or whole engine.

Hi,

I just broke the Piston and sleeve on my Novarossi RS12 5 port engine. I hope someone will give me some advice:

Should i just replace the Piston and sleeve only or whole engine but cost much more. (There are a lot of little tiny debris inside the engine) My concern is if i replace piston and sleeve only.... is the power and performance same as a new engine after replacment? Is there are anything i need to replace as well while i am doing it. (like maybe gasket or sealent?)
How do i replace it? Any link or url for instruction?

If you are me. Will you replace piston and sleeve or just buy a new engine?

Start with 67mm total lenght. Adjust it putting a 4mm on the locknut that holds the shock piston and adjust the total lenght measuring it screwing the shock cap and measure the total extension 67.2mm, no more no less.

Replace it with a Palmaris BRB piston/sleeve/conrod set

I ll replace the conrod and pin as well. Check your bearings too, if its worn out (lots of play) then I ll consider buying new engine because the cost of replacing all these parts only cost a bit less than buying new RS12 5 ,if its still available.

i would get a new engine. Replacing the p/s cannot guarantee the performance of the engine. Just take into consideration the moment the engine blew up, i believe it's caused by extensive heat which the p/s couldnt take any more.

So, the choice is yours.

The username of the guy that was selling them on ebay is mikemjg21. I believe he's on this board also but I don't remember his username. Do a search on ebay for completed items. The auction number is 3169608752. Send him an email.
