it's 3am and i have a races tomorrow and i have a question. i am setting everything up and i just installed new dogbones (driveshafts) all around. now... last time i checked, i thought that when you did not put connect the shocks on the rear arms, the rear of hte chassis would bottom out (ergo, the rear of my chassis should be touching my hudy board when the rear shocks are not attached).

however, with the rear shocks detatched, the rear is 1mm above my hudy board... is this correct behaviour? note rear tires are 65mm

always something!

I guess we speak different dialects! I understand yours, but it's sometimes hard to follow.

When 1mm above the Hudy board, do your dogbones have lateral play or do they bind? If you have a very narrow trackwidth (~194 or less) in the rear or put fuel tubing in the axles (for whatever reason), the dogbones will bind when compressing the suspension that much.
