Wheel offset
What is the standard offset for wheels on the 5? I'm looking at Capricorn wheels and they have 0.65 or 0.85.
Also, are you guys normally running the same shore F/R? |

Even with perfect alignment crowns may break. The solution is to simply install this option:

There are two obvious problems:
1. Some engines are too close to the frame. During the match, this can lead to rupture of the carter, due to the bending of the frame. To work around this problem: shim under engine, or make a small mill on the frame (see photo above) or replace the motor mounts with those options. 2. The differential of the plastic gears have a short life. you can change the internal distance increasing the thickness in such a way that they are more tightened, or mount those optional metal. |
does anyone have the diameter of the mtx5 flywheel?
thank in advice! |

http://www.rctech.net/forum/attachme...1&d=1331042089 when the chassis bends under brake pressure the gears are pulled towards the engine and rotate around the axis of the crank shaft and roll over the pinions...contact between the spurs and pinions are never decreased under braking. also the chassis cannot bend away from the engine this is next to impossible as there is the engine mounts, the rear baulkheads and the lay shaft towers stoping any movement of the spurs away from the engine. Nigh impossible! also if people thing stripping of gears comes from lateral left to right flex...well then, a brace with ball ends and a turn buckle will not stop this lateral flex:rolleyes: you are not going to stop stripping with a brace made out of a turnbuckle, ball ends and attached so close to the layshaft. You stop it by proper engine to spur alignment, both placed on a 90degree angle from each other. The MTX5 gears are some of the hardest plastic spurs i have ever seen. If you strip them something has been set incorrectly. |
It is true what you say. It seems that the frame bends right there. The real problem is that we're talking about bending and torsion. The neophyte, going up on the curb of the track, fasollevare the machine: it is more likely to break the crown. An expert will not break easily. The support shown has solved the problems of breakage. We tested it on some models. I do not usually use. I have broken the crown of the second gear in the final ; break of the carter motore Sirio ... too close to the frame.
Some kits contain a defective part: The thrust bearing stopper decentralized. It causes breakage. It is essential, however, real good gear transmission. The option also improves the braking. |
it may be useful but not essential (it seems).
The question is why those who occasionally broke the crown, with this option will not break again? |

mtx5 brace
we only use brace to keep chassi straight which should not have bent in first place middle would hit ground when braking and not end point just bad chassis only 1 set of gears striped non since brace was put on
the clutch center was good on ours but it is a bit off center on other kits QLD IT IS STILL A VERY GOOD CAR GREG |
