Well I use something else for my brakes:
brake disc - Capricorn ventilated one - CAP-203
brake pads - Kissling ones
This combination works very well without any fading and with a better brake response in wet and dry conditions!

The brake disc looks the Serpent option brake. Anyone using the Serpent option brake?

Here's the one for 1/8th

I wonder if the 1/10th would fit the NT1?

The 1/8th disc will not fit. The 720 one will, and perfectly at that. You can also get it in the Xceed brand.

Interesting. Too bad about the price. Killer. $50 for a brake disc a bit rich.

True, but you get what you pay for. I modified the K-Factory pads to fit mine some months ago. Still need to test it in a main.

I heard that the Exceed is not bad.
Serpent one is not so good because it is not as thick as the Exceed/Capricorn and therefore heat up more.

True. That's why I could not understand why Xray came out with an even lighter/thinner optional brake disc. The problem is that the original was already so thin that heats up very quickly and cannot disipate efficiently, thus causing fade.

The KM Racing Disc was good standing up to the heat because is was cross drilled and thicker, but the disc was too heavy. The exceed is just right.

Ive been uisng the stock disc with the kyosho acre pads and the brakes are awesome. Virtually no wear on the pads and i race every 2nd weekend full qualifiers and 30 min main finals with no fade.

I was given the KM racing disc on the weekend but i noticed its quite heavy

i'm using the xceed disk with serpent teflon pads, great braking performance, a lot better then the stock version which is completly useless.

Does anyone use the vented shock caps on the car?
These one's:

if so what do you think of them, i think i'm going to test it with a set.

rcfoolz 07-24-2008 05:35 PM

I just built a car that had them in the kit. They made setting the rebound on the shocks too easy:D

Ron Goetter 07-24-2008 05:43 PM

I actually did that myself to my caps just drilled a hole at the top of the threads with a 1/16 drill bit. Work real good. IMO:nod:

I have the multi Front diff and two of the 2x6 screws (903206), the head has broken off. Anyone else having this issue, and more important any ideas how to get the screw out of the hole so I can replace them, with out tossing the multi diff? (Yes, only the shaft is left in the multi diff...)

TomB 07-25-2008 01:02 AM

i just use two of the standard xray brake disks and the KM racing brake pad, i have no brake fade issues.

Dennison J 07-25-2008 07:25 AM

Hey James, did I tell you or what.....;)

This is what I was asking you about. The new aluminum bell from Xray.
