he he...
way too thick shock oils for my liking, and our tracks are a bit on the bumpy side so thick oil will make the car bounce all over the place.

as for the rest of the setup, maybe ill give it a try.
does the ackerman position matter all that much?
or are they just minor changes?
see the ackerman is in the forward position.
just playing with the setup this summer

id say start with 45 40 wt shock oils. with 24-25mm ride height
oils are slightly higher then normal due to the shocks being leaned over
softer initial dampening. also makes the car more forgiving.

as for the the ackerman position. i have only ever ran in the front position.
rearward holes for quicker steering response

This is the best mount you can get if Dave still has some left.

A friend of mine just bought an MBX6 and we would like to know a few more details on the overdrive thing.
What are the part numbers that match and where do we install it in the rear or up front.

We did the math and if we install the 42T/12T in the rear it actually overdrives the rear since the front is 44T/9T...meaning it will turn faster than the front...won't this cause oversteer.

Xray uses the same principle 41T instead of 43T but puts it up front...thus turning the front faster to pull the car forward and not oversteer.

The front needs to turn faster than the rear.

I got both the king headz is way better. The extended part helps with the excesive chassis flex, the pined quick change part is amazing for maintnence, and the king heads wont hit the engine block like the m2c will with some engines.

hey again
anybody tried the AVID brakes for the mbx6? i see they are a bit thicker so they will not fit straight into their place.
i see somebody online says remove the braks pads.

is that right?

HERE IS THE USUAL REPLY.

Mugen is the best fuel line, I have had the same line for 11 years now its not even dirty.
Maybe your installing it wrong, make sure it goes on the tank and the carb.
Also check to see if the ends are round.

How annoying is this?

In the stock brake setup, the brake "material" is on the calipers, while the discs are metal. In the case of the avid discs, the discs are the brake "material". This requires the brake calipers to be metal only. You do not want braking material on both disc and caliper. Hopefully this makes sense.

We use the xray hardened steel pads (XRA354121) with the avid discs. This is an excellent combo with consistent braking action. Build these brakes with about a 0.5mm gap and you should be fine. Remove the lower brake disc guides on the center diff mount, otherwise you will have clearance issues.

You want the car to pull through turns. If the rear is turning faster than the front, the car will drift/oversteer a lot. You don't want that

The stock MBX6 pinion is a 13T not a 9T if memory serves...Try your math again with that.
