Rumor is a major redesign like maybe no pillowballs. If they go that far they really could not call it an MBX5x it would be MBX6. I think it will be late in '08 before you can buy one, and I also think it will be a Prospec version like the X5R is. Notice they have discontinued all non-Prospec cars.

only thing i know is what kris moore said in an interview about the mbx5 series being outdated...only weaknesses are really weight and gearing the suspension it has is pretty top notch. if a person were to make out a list of the top 3-5 buggies out of the CEN, Losi, AE, OCM, Kyosho, Mugen, Jammin, Hyper, TTR ....alot of people would still have that "outdated" buggy in their top 3. alot of guys i race with said if they didnt have a losi it would be a mugen...i wont ever say it is the best (there is no best imo) but it is a very stable car in which to at least learn from

by about half a lb i would say. i have the light pillow balls and have done a few odds and ends in which to lighten it. its geared old school as well but when you factor in how many pro's run the car with the end results you can see it is still a competitive car. that is why i dont think the new buggy will be THAT different but then again when the mbx5 first came out alot of folks have said it was cutting edge...(was before my time in nitro) so i could be wrong. i'll be on my second season with my R and the only things i would have replaced are the rear a arms (they were getting slightly warped) and 3 shock ends (replaced all 4 with aluminum). most guys i know who run the jammin and the losi cars are or were on their second kit or replaced all the plastic parts and a hyper 8 was getting a new chassis because the drop screws ate a hole in the chassis. most of the guys are real particular about "slop" in their cars parts and out of 4 mugens i know run im the only one to switch out any plastic due to wear. i also wreck the most out of the 4 lol 2 are pro level factory guys and the other has raced his prospec for 3 years.....again im not saying its the latest and greatest but as far as fit, finish and how tough the car is it is a good car.
