WOW, You guys are running some FAST LAPS!
The clip on the top strap of the factory MM motor pod finally finished breaking, so no times for me this month! BUT with PoorBoy's & Kenon's help I got all the parts on order. Now we'll see how long everything takes to ship since the majority of us are frozen and covered in ice!
Take Care, Drive Fast, and STAY WARM!!!

Default January 2023 Results

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We had 8 racers posting in 6 classes this month, with some close racing with only seconds separating 1st and 2nd in Box Stock, Stock and Open 2WD. And PoorBoy/David Krinard again sweeps the top spots in all classes except Porsche Cup (good thing I ran Pro Stock)!

FTM goes to PoorBoy/David Krinard in his Open 2WD car with a smoking 2.78 fast lap!

If anyone was late, please post up and I will update the results. Because I have some posting on RCTech and others on Facebook, I'm listing handle/name to more easily identify racers across the platforms. If anyone objects, please let me know. Also please check my tabulations and let me know if I made any mistakes or missed anyone.

Cheers,

No one racing in North Carolina in this thread, according to the Search function... Then again, "NC" isn't searchable here.

Hi Marc! I'm in Winston-Salem, NC. The M96WC is run on your personal track that most people have in their homes. Participants are from around the world and if you look at their race results, it usually tells you where they are located. We each set up the same layout every month and run solo as much as we can to get the best result in each class which we post at the end of the month. These tracks are too tight to run more than one car at a time for timed runs.

As far as Charlotte is concerned, I'm not aware of any tracks in the immediate area. Soda City in Columbia, SC just started running Mini-Zs and there is a track at the HobbyTown in Asheville, NC. I travel to Smithfield, NC to race at R/C Hobby Nook occasionally and at the quarterly Carolina Cup Race in Fuquay. I saw in the NC/SC Kyosho Mini-Z Connection Facebook group that a guy in Pageland, SC is trying to get something going at his home. Lastly, Zee-Way Speedway in Mount Gilead, NC is having their first race this Saturday, 2/11 that I plan to travel to. More info in the North Carolina Mini-Z Racers Facebook group.

Hope this helps! Now lets get back on topic.

Hey all,

I'm looking for a new box stock body for mini-96 runs. Any suggestions (would prefer something available in a white body from kyoshoamerica, I get a small discount there). I'm currently running AMG GT3.

I also notice most cars running box stock are missing the front splitter, is that legal?

I've been running the McLaren F1 LM (MZN181) in Box Stock for a while, but I just started running the NSX (MZN186) and like it better so far. In stock at KA, I'd go with McLaren P1 (MZN190) followed by12C (MZN163). Not much else to choose from there. According to the rules for Box Stock "Kyosho Autoscale/White body Complete and unmodified" so shaved splitters may be a technical violation.

Box Stock
So far this month, I have a 373 second run with a fast lap of 3.921.

Edit 2/8
Down to 363 seconds. I need to try different springs and T-plate. Looking for just a bit more steering.

Edit 2/8 #2
Got under 6 minutes! Down to 353 seconds. My goal for the month is to get under 340 seconds, 4.5s lap average.

Edit 2/9
351 seconds.

Edit 2/23
351 seconds is still my fastest 75 laps, but I have run some sub 3.9s lap streaks.
