For those looking for a servo option, the D135F is the metal gear version of the D115F. I haven't really notice gear strippage issues with the D115F, we in general just got the D135Fs here as an upgrade on the LC Racing kits. Spektrum also has a servo that may work, though not sure its any better than the Batan ones from what we have seen.
I am hopeful this takes off to support the class and AE makes a kit version that includes sway bars and some other upgrades. A nice servo mount that would allow you to use bigger servos would be cool.

It could be that the molding on the a-arm is snug around the hingepin. we see this even in race kits. A nice hole reamer will open that right on up so the pin can drop right on through, or, as you use the vehicle it will free up. Still check to see if the hingepin is bent of course.

This is the one that the Reedy basically looks like for ESC:
Hobbywing Quicrun 30 Amp Brushless ESC
Except now you can hook it up to a programmer card and tune it.
The 60 Amp unit I think you are talking about is this one:
Hobbywing Quicrun 10BL60 Sensored 60 Amp ESC
Looks like the quicrun version of the xr10 juststock esc and should work quite well too. May give you more options as it has the option of running a sensored motor if one fits in the vehicle.
As for motors, the LC Racing kits I would get in here we had them all equipped with the tenshock motor. It works quite well. The stock LC motor though looked like it worked fine too for the one guy who had one, no issues on heat in buggy mode (LC Racings SCTs and Truggies are longer)

Been following thread since it was started. The Reflex is still on my list of possible. I wouldn’t expect much from Associated for it. Considering how long the mini8 was around and Losi didn’t fix any of the known issues. Instead created others by turning the original into 2 other vehicles.
If there is a class using it. Do what you can to promote it. It’s far to regional to expect Associated to see it as a clas for them to get involved supporting.

As for a full class. I don’t know if it would ever spread past a local thing. Not that theres any thing wrong with that. l I’m still relatively new to the racing side of the hobby( only on road so far). And while I’ve read a lot of good things about 1/14 scale. During the 6 years I owned the mini8 I only ever met 2-3 others in person. And like me, at that time none had been to a track.

also after my teardown everything was fine execpt it seems my spur gear is out of round and the truck wont drive. its like it gets to the tigher part of the spur gear and then makes a sound like its stripping something. but the spur gear isnt getting stuck, its just tight to the point where the diffs must be slipping?
whats the easiest way to get the center diff out of the truck, id like to only remove whats needed. i didnt take the diff covers off until i had almost all the suspension tore down last time.
thanks.

3 would be a great way to get a class going. As for Losi doing an update. Haven’t read anything, other then they have discontinued the buggy. There were plenty of owners suggesting to Losi to offer it as a kit.

in the mini 8 thread here just a few days ago a losi designed hopped in and asked what sort of updates or changes the losi 8 drivers would like to be made for the platform. its not a news anncounment by any means, but to me it suggests they are at least considering it.

ok so i figured out how to get the diff out without taking apart the suspension. (front and back diff covers, ESC mount, and lift up the a arms). So i took the 52 pin spur off (the rear bearing plastic was mushroomed around the bearing i had to pick off some plastic to get the bearing off. I installed the other gear that came with it to the diff, checked that it was nice and smooth (its smooth but it takes a decent firm pressure to spin it, perhaps to muc of the 5k fluid?), but when i went to reinstall it there is no way it fits.... like the 70t doesnt fit in the diff cover at all. what am i missing?
sucks to be a noob sometimes.
