I ordered a bunch of LC parts to test out and play with including hexes (those were out of stock from Warren for now though but don't see why they wouldn't fit)

Ive recently encountered this problem. The bearing facing the front of the car on the center diff had excessive play due to the plastic wearing out on the diff housing itself.

Is this a part that an alumimum upgrade could be made?

Not sure if dying servos is much of an issue on these, but since they use the same servo as the LCs, after doing some research some people have been mounting up low profile servos to there LC racing vehicles with a few modifications.

I am hoping to swing by the hobbyshop today or tomorrow to see if a low profile servo with some mods can fit this vehicle as when comparing the size of the low profile Protek 160T to the stock D115F and D135F servos, other than being fatter a lot of the other dimensions are very close.

It may be that the receiver box needs to be moved etc for fitment of the servo, but this could give a very nice option for a durable servo.

Right on I'm looking for servo options. I was looking at Reef's RC 99 Micro Servo in addition to what's been discussed already. Honestly don't know much about the brand though, seems to be good?

here are some pics of some test mounting I did from a borrowed 14B.. Mind you its not fully mounted, and the ball studs are used from the LC Racing vehicle but from what I was seeing, it is definitely something doable.

the savox servo used is pretty short, so probably a more ideal candidate than some low profile servos that could be "tall".

Tinkering with some of the LC parts today. Looks like most of the aluminum fits alright with the exception of the spindle. I may be able o get this to fit with some minor modification though. Only issue is the threaded holes are a bit big but I'll see if I can make it work with different hardware. I couldn't fully mount everything up today because of this.

The CF shock towers look like they may work but the screw holes don't line up well enough & it looks like the gap isn't right with the diff cover. Might be able to make this work with some modding but it may not be worth it.

Worth the test & I'll keep going to see if it's easy enough to kit the aluminum. If not, I'll work on getting some parts made that will work (hopefully...getting the 3d printer put back together this weekend for prototyping).

Has anyone seen any information on if/when upgrades might be released for these things? I’m loving my 14b!

Hey guys, for those of you who have experience with the Reflex, I’ve got a question. I have a 16x30 carpet track in my shop with 4’ lanes. We run the Latrax Rally cars on it and have a blast (it’s just a play/practice track, we have a top notch indoor off-road facility nearby). We’ve thought of building some small jumps and getting a more off road oriented platform for my boys to get some practice in. Do you guys think a 16x30 track with 4’ lanes is doable for the Reflex? Thanks in advance.

That's pretty cool some of the LC parts actually work on these cars. I think the carriers could easily be machined or Dremel'd down to fit the front arms.

I wonder if you could tell me what the length of the CVA is from the inside edge of the front spindle where it contacts the bearing and how much thread is left on the axle once it's installed with the hex on? The CVA might potentially be a part that would also work on the LC cars which would be very cool. The stock LC CVD's are somewhat notorious for bending rather easy.

Just for your information, the stock ESC tray foot can be easily teared off by ESC shaking.

I think that shoudl be doable for sure. the vehicles from what I recall aren't that much different in size than the latrax rallys.

Going off of the factory parts, looks like length from inside spindle (as explained) to the outer tip/edge of the hex is about 11mm
Same inner spindle location to the tip of the screw/axle is about 17mm (so about 6m of thread after the hex)

Didn't get this one added to the pic but just in case, backside of spindle carrier to same end of hex is about 23mm (when square/wheels not turned at all). Hope that helps

Thank you for doing that. That is helpful info, but I was actually looking for the length of the 14B CVA when installed in the LC front spindle from where it contacts the bearing to the other end where it inserts into the diff outdrive. And also, if the axle length available is still comparable to the 6mm you show with them installed in the Reflex spindles and stock hex's. Sorry, my original question was kinda vague.

Essentially what I'm trying to figure out is if the AE CVA's are a possible option for using on the LC Racing cars.

Think I got it here but I haven't installed it yet. 66mm measured to the end of the pin not the ball end. Axle length still remains at 6mm after hex.

Perfect! That’s the number I need. Thank you so much for doing that!
