Associated Reflex 14B/14T

We have one here that is ran on our indoor carpet tracks, one is gray ozite, other is Foss ozite that comes up for sale reguarly on Menards (25 cents a square foot) and it works great. Owner did some simple modifications, mainly electronics but has been very happy with it.

Do you notice any odd flexing in the chassis components that may be affecting your pinion to spur gear mesh?

I'm running 7K, 5K 3K (F, C, R) in the diffs. I haven't noticed any odd flexing as far as I can tell. Gear mesh was set properly and all the screws holding down the center diff cover were as tight as can be. Strange thing is, this seems to be happening with the 58T spur. I've had the 70T in there for a couple weeks now and no issues what so ever.

- Spur gears may have an issue themselves
- The mesh may be unable to get as tight as it needs to be with the smaller spur
Anyway you can take some photos with the cover off like Drifter did with his?
Also, rotate the transmission slowly and see if you notice any wobbling in the spur area or even the pinion area where the mesh opens and tightens up again.

1st post here
Been lurking on this thread for a little while now though
Getting back into R/C & the Reflex is responsible. Just picked up a 14T the other day (also snagged a little SC28). Not new to R/C but I've never made it out to an R/C track (plenty of car/bike tracks). Had a 1st gen T-Maxx most of my childhood and that was plenty lol also dabbled with 1/10 drift. ( No longer have the T-Maxx
)
Took the Reflex out on day 1 in some fairly tall wet grass and wet sand after rain (playground). Definitely need diff oil (obviously) and my ESC fell off within the first 15 minutes. Not a big deal but just throwing that out there. Got it all broken down for a proper cleaning and oiling (as soon as my new diff oil comes in). I tore it apart to also take a closer look at everything since it's RTR. I plan on rearranging electronics as others have done to balance the vehicle a little better. Going to be testing out some aluminum &/or CF replacement parts to see what fits in addition to what's already been posted here. From what I can tell, there should be a decent amount of upgrades for the Reflex that can be taken from other models. Also have a non TA body in the mail that I'm hoping I can make fit cleanly.
Should note that I'm fairly novice (not dumb) with electrical motors and components including LiPo. Also don't know a whole lot on servos, always just ran what I had and never had an issue since I didn't race at a track.

Hmm, almost makes me wonder with the smaller diameter either:

Be cool if someone or AE looks into making a long wheelbase version of the vehicles. For tracks with more limited space, these can feed the racing bug much better than the 1/18 scales did just from durability alone!
Anyone hear anything about AE releasing some race oriented tuning options? See lots of potential there. Maybe a version that is a roller could be done with AE offering a sensored motor setup.

Has anyone tried the 4TEC 2.0 wheels and tires on this car? I love the 14B and way it drives but I am primarily on the street and would love some more grip. I currently have the LC racing rally tires on to give me better wear and road traction. The rallly are the same width as the front x4 vs the stock staggered. I was hoping the 4TEC wheels might work a little better being staggered too and a road compound. It looks like they are ~1.9" diameter and similar in width to the stock. The main question I have is offset. Thanks for any advice!

Waiting on some parts to get my 3D printer fixed, but I'm working on changing the steering bell crank to have the servo arm on the opposing side so we can lay the servo flat and give some more options for arranging electronics (maybe?). I'm basing the concept of the LC buggy. We'll see how it works.

Pic of the EMB-1 Servo Mounted (Have some LC parts on order to test with)

Is there anything out there like this already that fits? Not sure if the LC one fits.
I'm not great with 3D Design but plan on doing as much as I can for this platform. Open to ideas/help
