Tamiya TA07 pro

Great, thank you. I am thinking of starting for black carpet VTA with the sways, 55T spur 28T pinion, for FDR of 4.0, Motor in position one.
Unsure as to what weights to start with in shocks and differentials for oils. Maybe 3000 front diff and 1000 rear Asscoiated diff fluid, as that is what I have at moment.
Shock oil 50wt. I realize there is no one answer to all this but if I am way off feel free to chime in.

Never run thicker diff oil in the rear unless you want a drift car.
3000 rear is ok, 10000 front is quite free but you will get a lot of turn in but lose speed on the exit.

Yes, i am thinking 3000 front, 1000 rear.

Teamrule, I would try it stock and work from there. I was expecting to do a lot more tuning on my mine but everyone at the track was telling me just to drive it. It was good for a tq and good main battle and hasn't seen a camber gauge yet.

Yes, I forget many times best to start stock and make one change at a time. Did you literally build to manual spec and fluids etc.?
#1463
Yup, I didnt even put a camber gauge to it after setting the ball cups with dial calipers. I think I put thicker front diff fluid in and set the ride height/droop.
#1464
What position did you put motor in for black carpet?
#1465
My motor is in the middle but I'm on grey carpet till the track moves and we go to black.
From what I read here, it seems like middle will be the way to go.

Just to be clear when you say "middle" you mean farthest forward position as in middle of car correct?

I'm really happy with the TA07 replacing my TA05V2R who served me well the last years during the Tamiya Cup in Belgium.
I've started with the same setup for black carpet using Tamiya Type-A tires:
parameter: front - rear
ride height: 5,0 - 5,5
droop: 6 - 5
spring: yellow - yellow
stabi: medium - medium
damper oil: 450 - 450
diff: 300.000 - 2000
camber: 1,5 - 2,0
Currently, the car is setup with Carson Cup Machine motor for club races and training. The shorty saves some weight while the Left/Right balance seems correct. I've ordered a NSX-GT 2005 lightweight for the coming season.

Have any one tried to mount damper towers in the rear from a TRF model?
i would like to try it so the body mount holes line up a little better if i wanna try diffrent bodies.
