I run the 1s size 2s in my F1 car! It makes a huge difference in the handling.

In Dumper and CRC we trust!

The BRCA rules for World GT-R are currently 1S and 13.5 turn. Having run it as a 12th National support class in previous seasons I didn't enjoy 13.5 as much as I have running 17.5 @ the IIC and Snowbirds. Probably the best way to describe it is I feel more on top of the car with 17.5 and can focus on tight and precise lines.

+1 Mark I've never tried 13.5 but I think the class is awesome the way it is I'm always down for change but again the class is great the way it is. And orca did a great job in my opinion on the motors unlike some other can am classes

I agree that the Can-Am motor and gearing for this class is a great match.

I like 17.5 for this class, I am returning to on road and this seem like a great class. Maybe a set gearing but not motors. Some people like different motors.

I recently acquired the following two bodies:

#7038 PORSCHE 911 GT1 BODY (200mm)

#7046 MERCEDES-BENZ CLK-GTR BODY (200mm)

I see the Porsche body in the approved list but I don't see the Mercedes CLK-GTR body on there. Would this body still be legal? I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be. The Mercedes body seems to be pretty rare as I can't even find pictures of it on the HPI website.

Those bodies were discontinued over 15 years ago. I'd run a different and current body for racing if I were you. lol

over regulation of a class is a good way to say goodbye to that class. leave the motors and gear ratio alone.

It is a promoter or track option. Not a class rule. The three major tracks in Ohio have adopted the motor rule for USGT, Stock TC, 1/12 stock and WGT-R. It helps the new racer a ton because they don't have to worry about the motor, motor timing and gearing. They can just work on the car and driving. Those of us that are veterans to racing may like more tinkering but for a rookie those things can be overwhelming. I also prefer the CanAm motor rule as it lets me have a better club day when running multiple classes. This is an overlooked point by some.

What works up there does not work to good down here. As the class died but last weekend we had 4 racing. By adding a motor and gearing would put the final nail on the coffen. Having at least a motor choice and gearing might get things going again down here.

There's always the fight. "The tuner versus the driver". Tuners want options. Drivers want the fast car, but if they can't have the fast car, they want the even car.

Who can be "more even" than the next guy. *throws his camber guage on the table, spins some 5mm bar stock under the chassis, and walks off to talk to people who want to have fun*

There is still plenty to tune and it makes it even more important. It also makes the class a real driving class. On the other hand CanAm eliminates the issue of cheater manufacturers. Yes the motors may not be perfectly equal but they are really close. How many of you have gotten beat by one of the recently removed from the ROAR list motors? And if you ran one of those motors, how do you feel now knowing that all that advantage wasn't legal? You didn't know it for sure but you were not legal. That is why CanAm came to be. Just a spec to ensure at major races that the playing field in the motor department was as level as it could be.
Just understand that your local track can do what they want. Heck you can run 13.5 or 2 cell something if it makes your club have more racers. For us, we felt following CanAm was a better choice and it improved our car count in those classes.
