World GT-R Rules and Discussion

Wow, that's interesting. I know I love this setup in my F1 car, and it's just as heavy if not heavier than my GTR car, and it's faster. May have to try this sometime over the summer.
Dumper, I actually tried this before can am came along. I spent the better part of the day trying different things, but the end result was the same. All it wanted to do is spin the tires right off the carpet. Trying a 13.5 can am motor may provide a different result.

I have run 13.5, and it is totally manageable for me. However, for some people at some tracks it will not be. At a track like IIC in Vegas, or Canadian Nats, where the track is huge, 13.5 isn't that big of a deal. But when you get on a medium sized track or small track, then 13.5 becomes too fast.
A couple of years ago, we mentioned doing 13.5 on tracks 80 foot and longer and 17.5 on tracks 79 feet and shorter (or track owner discretion). There were a few people that freaked out. Apparently owning 2 motors is too much for some.
The bottom line is, we have to have rules that work everywhere. Most tracks are not the size of IIC (120x60) or Canadian Nats (110x60). Having run at a lot of different tracks, 17.5 works.
For a class where "17.5 is too slow" in GTR, there seems to be an awful lot of wrecking. 13.5 will not make this better.
If people can voice their opinion in a reasonable manner then we are certainly open to listening.

I think its in people’s nature to be curious though.
It it is weird though, I love the way this class handles, and it is easy to drive. But I can se how some get bored with it and move on too. As is, I think it’s a great class to get someone back in. And canam really makes for some crazy good racing up at the upper level (we’re talking no mistakes kind of driving) but that can also be frustrating, not being able to tap at all is like a whole different level of driving.

No 2s. That would mean new motors, esc and batteries, also might need to redesign the car as well. Would be the end of gtr for me.

I second this. The CRC Team are always looking at ways to improve racing and make it even better. Keep up the good work Dumper!!!

Just run f1 for 2s action. I don't understand the draw for 2s systems. Modern 1s esc's work fine now. Don't forget that the rules allow f1 cars to be 1mm lower than wgtr. A taller 2s battery might not be a good idea.
13.5 sounds fun though.
