Hey all. Wondering if someone can answer 2 question for me:
1. Can the smaller Mini Chassis rims/wheels fit on the TT02 or 01 chassis? 2. What is the narrowest you can get the chassis - outer edge of wheel to outer edge of wheel? Thanks for your help |

Ah, I will have to check out the manual for the stock TT02 and TT02D to understand the difference, -thanks for pointing that out. ;)

Well, I was thinking about something rigid like a plastic cover because my esc has a fan and I'm afraid a fabric could damage it or get sucked in.
Since the weather will be hotter (here in Southern Italy temperature is 30-35°C), I'm thinking about installing a motor heatsink. I check motor temperature every 5 mins with an IR thermometer and I read about 40-50°C. Do you think I'll need an heatsink? Is it normal that it is hotter near the pinion? Looking at getting a TT02 for my son. I have a 1800kv brushless motor sitting in the shed im considering putting into it. Anyone recommend a gearing combo that will work with that motor?
|
1800KV is very slow for a touring car. I'd try the stock gearing and see what the speed actually is before attempting to guess how much higher to go.

Apart from wheel bearing kit, is there anything else I should consider to get? |
Depends how old your son is but yes with stock gearing that could be slow and he could outgrow it quick.. Still quicker than a silver can
21.5t is a common class where I race locally but obviously geared with a big pinion which I'm quite sure you're quite limited with the tt02 unless you get a sliding motor mount... Thercracer.com touches on this |

Most 21.5T motors I looked at are listed at around 1700 - 2100kv which is why I went with the 1800kv for him for now. What is the stock motor like that comes with the kit?

He is 7. Was going to get him that for now and look at a 21.5T down the track.
Does anyone know if the Subaru 1999 WRX body comes with pre-drilled holes? |
If it's a Tamiya body none are pre drilled. Should get a body reamer, if you enjoy the hobby a lot, the reamer will serve you for many bodies...

The older bodies did come pre drilled. If it's the Impreza body that was just re-released, it likely isn't pre drilled.

Looks great. Killerbody?
