hi guys

finally upgraded my t2 09 to a t3 12! :-)

just like to ask again (if this has been asked a million times), that if we are NOT to follow the manual in terms of filling up the gear diff with oil using weight, what percentage would you determine to say the oil in the gear diff is already sufficient?

Say, 50% - 80%? or do we fill it up like the way we fill up the spec r gear diff, until the oil reaches the cross section?

many thanks in advance.

sounds...ok.

itll just leak out if you've overfilled anyway.

It seals better without the thin O-ring for my nt1 and t3 diffs.

I fill the diff, use a shock pump to remove the air then assemble and wipe up the excess.

Default and sweep

for those who are running arm sweep, are you seeing more mid corner/exit steering? I was running a stock front end, 1 degree toe out. I put a .4 shim in the front block, and kept the 1 degree toe out, and could see more steering in mid/exit. I just want to make sure I'm seeing that right. It also seemed like the rear got a little loose w/ the arm sweep, what can be done to keep the arm sweep, but keep the rear planted like it was w/o arm sweep?

any info would be helpful, thanks

Default Shocks

Is anyone having issues with the shocks leaking oil? I am running my shocks without the foam insert and I am noticing after a couple of runs the oil is leaking on the shocks. Any suggestions?

R3volution, nerdling and Flat Out: many thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I can't build the geardiff 100% as per the manual instruction since i don't have a digital mini scale :-)

Check the rubber insert/O-ring/membrane. I had this happen to me when i first built the car, i do not use foam inserts either and from what i found, the membrane was not seated correctly into the shock between the body and the cap. This cause it to stretch, and once it reached a certain point, it began to leak, this caused some really bad handling issues and costed me alot of track position. I hope your problem is as simple as mine was! Good Luck and i hope this suggestion helps! -Randy Banks

same! i fill the diff to the cross, vacuume and seal. i have run the oring, but when i rebuild to change the oil to something lighter i will leave it out. less rotating mass.

Go to ebay and find one. I picked up one for about $6 shipped.

Sorry, should have been clear I did not use the scales when I built the diff

I put the cross section in, and fill to about 1/4 to 1/2 up the side of the cross section. If you overfill the diff, that is when it leaks.

Why use a pump? Unless you really overfill the diff there is going to be air in there, so that is probably an unnecessary step.

Just bought my t3 12. What do I need parts wise (I know what motor/esc and servo I'm getting)? Basically what's good to have right off the bat. Thanks
