If anyone is interested in running Xray ECS Driveshafts in their TC6 you can use the TOP spool and these outdrives

The Top spool and these outdrives are a direct fit in the TC6
They are made out of 7075 aluminum.

They can be found here http://sidepieceracing.com

What mm drive shaft would you use they come in different mm for the Xray.

They come in two sizes - 50mm and 52mm. You can see pictures of them installed in my Photon on the web site. Hopefully we can test fit this setup in a TC6 this weekend, otherwise it will have to wait until The Birds next week.

would any of the Herbert carpet setups work for high grip asphault?

The stock "kit" setup did not work at all for the track. So far I went to 0 arm mounts in front and 1 mounts in rear and its better but not great. tips?

Any of Olly Jefferies setups are a good starting point. Moto Arena is probably the highest grip track on the list:

Useful TC6 build guide from BRCA champ Olly Jefferies:

The stuff about getting the chassis and motor mount flat is definitely important. I found the tip about scoring the hubs to remove bearing slop useful as well; even on brand new hubs the bearings move around a fair bit, and scoring them is better than adding superglue.

Lubes in the box!

Hi,

Just a real quickie, are you meant to get any lubes with the kit? I mean like black grease, diff grease?

Thanks,

Carl

Andrew Abbott's Summer Nats (Australia) setup sheet is now posted.

Yes, you should get the diff grease, black grease for the thrust bearings, and shock oil in the box. If you didn't, you need to call Associated and they'll send it out to you ASAP.

Which setup would be a good starting point for a17.5 non boosted rubber carpet on a small track. Most of the setups online are for mod or sometimes boosted.thanks guys.

Mowell 01-21-2011 11:28 AM

I'm running 3.84 with an Ion3 coming off the track at 150 at end of 6 minutes. That's with 0 endbell timing.

Thanks, but I 'm talking about car set up not gearing.

Herbert indoor champs. Click here. You can sub #2 pistons instead of the 1/1/1.5s and use 40 weight oil, you can also use 7A as a rear camber link position for starters until you get shorter turnbuckles. +1mm shim with the black ball studs until you get silver ones, too.

Running mine this way. Dialed in pretty close with Sorex 24s on a small indoor carpet track 17.5 non-boosted.

Buckaroo, I'l try it. Thanks.
