Its a straight drop in, you can keep the drive shafts and blades, you will need to dremel a bit though.

So it's dremel rather than a light sanding??

BD5(mfg. by yok) diff fits, You need to grind the ball of the bone or drill out the cups. the blades fit with just a little sanding. Keven and I ran 80 wt ae oil at the champs.

Any shimming needed or is it a direct drop in like it was made for the TC6? So we can keep the AE drive shafts and blades and just sand the outdrives so the blade fits???

Are you going to be at MSI on Sunday? Would like to take a look at the gear diff setup. Do you know if AE is working on their own version?
I don't know |
Anyone else notice that the assembly of the TC6 slipper spool now includes the 5/64" thrust balls on the short side of the diff outdrive? These weren't part of the TC5 assembly. What overall difference would this make?
|
the thrust balls should prevent the slipper spool from coming loose like the old one did.

this was never a problem (without the thurst ball assembly) while running 17.5 stock and boosted, but as soon as I switched to 13.5 the slipper was coming undone all the time... when I asked around all the TC5 guys at the track run with the thrust assembly... -b |

I'm certain it's a typo. Whoever re-typed the setup sheet for the manual misread "-1.5" for "4.5".

Rick Hohwart confirmed that it's a typo. -1.5° is the value that was meant to be there!

I was going thru the manual part numbers and they refer to all SOFT plastics! Please tell me that is wrong!

Yes it is wrong. All parts are hard plastic.
