Any recommendation on shock weight oil for indoor rubber tire on carpet racing? Currently I have stock oil with stock springs but was thinking about adding some 100 weight. Thoughts?

Also looking for clear gear covers if anyone has some, let me know.

Happy New Year!

I'm looking to put a front ball differential into my Evo IV and was wondering if anyone knew some tricks. I would like to get the complete package in one order rather then ordering each part separately. Any suggestions?

I just read through all 233 pages of the Evo IV thread looking for helpful information about the car and some setup suggestions as these seem very hard to find. In the next day or some I will be putting together some excerpts from this thread regarding setups. If anyone has any to add please send me a PM.

I have also scoured the internet looking for replacement / hop up parts and have plenty of suppliers. It seems there is still life in this old car. I'm just doing my part to keep this thread alive. Cheers!

Here is a quick list of internal setup links:

For what I see tamiya always come out with the same improvise version. It's just like whatever which is currently popular now maybe forgotten the next day. To a no. of people it;s kinda memorable to keep the car kits. Although for some the parts support has been discontinued.

Hy!

I ran my Evo4MS in the summertime at the countryside on my local track.

It is equiped with a 9,5T BL X11 motor and i run it with 5cells and also with Lipos.

For the dampers i run with Tamiya White i nfront and blue in thr back, with 40-50 oil. and the 3 hole plates.

I also switched to the inner hole of the steering knuckles, wich was a big improve of the car handling. The upper arm positions i changed all around to the inner hole on the bulkheads.

A very very good hopup for the car are the yeah racing Aluminium diff outdrives wich i also have installed.

How did you make out with this? I would like to replace my oneway with a ball diff.

Does anybody know if the TB-03 diff will fit the EVO IV ????

No ! The TB03/Evo5 diffs wont work on the Evo4, but the TB02/Evo3 diffs are the same as the Evo4 ones.

From Tamiya where onls black ones and the white "Evo3 surikarn edition" diffoutdrives available.

For now i highly recomend the yeah racing aluminium diff outdrives, wich are a direct replacement of the standard plastic ones.

I posted them already 2 replies above.

rcmart have them in stock for example.

I have istalled is in my Evo4 for over a year and they are great! much better then the plastic ones! yout silkysmooth with ceramic biff balls.

I ended up getting an assembled but never run Evo IV which had been upgraded to an MS with titanium hardware. It came with an extra ball different. I am still running my old Evo until I can swap over the electronics. I will be running tomorrow with a ball differential up front. I will post on how it goes compared to running a one-way or spool.

I have an Atomic lipo tray but I found it is easier to use filament tape.
You can get Scotch Filament tape in black at Staples for $3.

If so what sizes?

How can I get 26mm foam tires to fit the Evo? I thought I read someplace about people using HPI Pro4 components because can't remember where I read it or even if it's true. Any help on this matter would be great. Thanks
