Hi, is possible to use 44mm shaft in place of original 46mm?

PS: Anyone have a spare damper (#53571) to sell?

Yes if you use the short suspension arms. Or narrower blocks. Or both.

Picked up a used "project" TB EVO 4 that seems to be comprised of a mix of parts. Looking to see if I can finish it off.

Are there more modern top decks and main chassis that are compatible with this?

Top deck and lower deck. There are no off the shelf newer parts.

you can however fit the latest TRF arms, adjustable suspension blocks and possibly even the latest gear diffs and spool.

Question what size bevel gear you need?
EVO4 internal is 2.294 17T /39T bevel gear
EVO5 internal is 2.437 16T/39T
EVO6 internal is 2.50 16T/40T
TB04 is the same as EVO6 gearing
they all fit ,it all depend on what internal drive you are using
ps shimming is required
I would use the EVO5 gearing most common part to find available

Thanks, good info.
Has anybody swapped their EVOIV ball diff for gear diff? If so, from which car did you get the gear diff (TB03/04/05 or EVO5/6/7?)

This article might be useful

They used TB04 gears, but TB03/Evo5 spool gears should be more or less the same, spool might fit even better.
