i'm using the aluminum one too. If you attach the gear to the backside of the spool (like you would with the one way) it won't fit in the geargbox. so you have to screw it in on the inside. The OEM hew screws don't hit the bevel gear, but it was close enough to stir up some concern. I didn't want to take the chance of having a crash and then ruining the bevel gear

The performance can be right on par with any top notch car on the market. I have had almost all the top cars and this one performance wise is as good as any of them. For me it is better than most of my other cars but I think like all good cars I hit a sweet spot for me and I'm very confortable with the handling.

I think it is Tamiya's best effort to date with shaft car. Really like the revesable a arms that can gice you 5 mounting locations buy just flipping them over. Very cool setup in my book as I have already grown to like that feature. The car is as easy as any other shaft drive car to work on as well and that is a plus. I like the fast that you could run open diffs kinda like the Cuda's or you can close them off like the Pro4 and Yoke. The EVO IV has all the features one needs to put in the winners circle.

evo 4 guys,

has anyone tried the new tamiya v2 motors yet? im planning to buy stock 23turn motors.which one should i get.....an RZ or a TZ? our track is technical and a bit tight.

F. Alonso 12-10-2004 03:00 AM

Well I would say that either the TZ or RZ will be good. Some motors differ in quality as my RZ is much more powerful then my TZ when onsong, but its very inconsistent. My TZ however is constantly outputting the same level of power no matter what I do. So.... either way you should be right.

I am probably gonna get one of the new Tamiya V2 motors so I can say I am running a Tamiya motor in my Evo IV!!! I'll probably have Orion and Peak stuff throughout it though. Mind you.... all that it is is a rebadged Orion motor anyway. Looks practically identical to the Rheinhard Edition Orion motor!!!!!
