Which is best futaba servo for TB Evo IV?

KiwiKid 09-07-2004 05:48 PM

I recommend the 9550 low profile servo. Digital, high speed and leaves plenty of room for all your other electronics.

Or Nosram Dominator Evolution (which is the same as the LRP Quantum 2)

The LRP is blue in colour
The Nosram is red (to match the Evo 3SE) :)

I am thinking of replacing my 414 with a new Tamiya.

The TRF 415 thread is very active and I get a lot of info from there for that car, but the EVO IV thread is not very informative.

Arenīt there many users of the EVO IV yet, or simply the 415 is the favorite?

What I am interested to know is how the striping of the front gears and rear gears is going. Is there any striping or this problem has been fixed.

Has anyone tried a oneway and or a spool upfront?

Thanks,
John.

Tamiya are going to reliese a fair few new alloy parts for the evo 4 and alloy parts for the LW suspension. Rick

G'day John

I'm loving my Evo 4, its comes with a One Way, and I haven't stripped a gear yet!

john, if you don't want stripped gears, by a tc4! my tc3 never stripped one, even though i run hot motors and crash it all the time! tamiya=skata (you know what i mean ;) )

John Doucakis 09-10-2004 04:39 AM

I think this is a good looking EVO 4

Hey, does anyone know if they used the Evo IV at the TCS Eurocup or the TCS North American Championships??? I am gonna be racing my Evo IV at the TCS Australia, just wanna see what other Evo IVs did at TCS's??

SpeedTech 09-10-2004 08:49 AM

F.Alonso,

I think there was quite a few guys running the EVO IV at the TCS North American Championship...however, the top finishers ran:

1st: Ling Kang Tong = TRF415
2nd: Orlando Sherman = EVO III (I believe)
3rd: Corey Whiteman (I'm not sure what he ran)

I ended up just outside of the podium with my TRF415 in 4th :) quite honestly, I'm not sure if there was any EVO IV in the top 10. I think it's just the lack of time to setup the EVO IV for the TCS national since it was released in the US just a couple of weeks before hand.

The EVo4 was not allowed at the Eurofinals. Only cars and parts that were on the catalog before the 1st of may.
