If anyone is interested....

I’ve have a brand new, built, never been run TB Evo 5 for sale if anyone is interested. I built it years ago to race, but then dropped out of sedans all together. The car has Tamiya hop-up options already installed, and I have some spare is memory serves. PM me if you’re interested and I'll send you some pics.

Lates,
Vyg

I'm in the process of reviving my Evo IV to run VTA at my local carpet track and I need a setup to start with. It's been a few years since this car hit the track so I'm currently rebuilding everything on the car.

I know this thread is kind of dead, but I figured I would give it a shot anyway. Thanks in advance for any help!

So there's one of these up on a local for sale board for $275. I was gonna buy a TT-01E but I'm wondering if this would be a better buy? I plan on using it as a drifter.

Hey guys, is there a gear diff that fits this car?

JimmyMac 10-22-2013 08:08 PM

I too would like to know about a gear diff. Mine is hanging on the wall. I'd like to revive it again just for fun. The only reason I haven't run it lately was because my plastic diff have fried. I need to purchase some aluminum outdrives or find a gear diff.

You might want to try a gear diff from SpecR for a TB03.

i can confirm this works with some shimming. also to note the TB04 gear diffs will also work with some shimming since they work on the evo 5

Do the gears for the EVO 5/TB03 work on the EVO IV? What do they change the internal ratio to?

The EVO5 and the TB03 has the exact same IR which is 39/16 = 2.4375

Good to know the spec-r diff fits.

I tried the TB04 gear diff and the bevel seems to rub the main cylinder on the diff.

Looking at the above it seems your bevel gear is rubbing against the Gear diff Main oil cylinder. Or is it just a mark?

Anyone else fitted the Spec-R diff in the Evo4? it looks like it might fit as it has a smaller oil cylinder.

Not a perfectly round mold from TAMIYA. It has a high side.
