jeez
This guy was posting on the rcracing.com site some months ago trying to drum up interest in this dopey idea. Every reply I saw pretty much said "gee just what we need-more touring cars". Take a real race car and turn it into something mundane; too bad.
He claims that the car works well but so what? I'm sure someone will want to buy this as an oddity anyway. O'D |
that 1/12th tc is pretty cool but .........there is something rong about it
|
12th scale TC is plain wrong and I love it. I just got into it. It does one thing that regular TC doesn't and that is all about FUN. These cars are probably the most fun to watch and drive, well besides 8th scale buggy( but that is anohter thing). They actualy hande very well and you can save loads of money if you are just starting out into R/C. We have just started having 1/12TC class at our track, it is the most fun of all the classes. No one can acually take it so serious I mean you see these mini TC and WOW is all you can say. Also you can strap a 6 cell hump pack to it and watch the doors fly off regular TC cause of the weight difference. these are just my two pennies, if you don't want them then leave them wear you found them.
Thanks, Stephen <>< Here is a sale I passed on, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT |
12L4 gearing for stock.
12L4 gearing question..... Stock motor.
What is a good starting point for stock racing, using a 12L4? I have 64 pitch gears, Spur gears are 96,98,100. Track is 80 x 55. Can someone please help me out? |

With the ROAR Epic motor, start 3 teeth lower on the pinion and work from there. D.P. |
Thanks for the infomation....
I currently do not have the lower pod from IRS, so I have to run the taller tires. I was told I cannot go any smaller than 1.92. So with that being said.... Do I need a larger pinion or smaller for the starting point. Sorry for the basic questions, but I am very new to 1/12th scale racing. I haven't even driven one before. |
Bigger tires=smaller pinion.

how do you check your tweak on a 1/12th? I know you have to put on a flat surface and lift the rear pod, and check which wheel comes up first. But how do you fix that?

12L4 question
Can someone tell me where to buy the teflon tape that goes on the rear pod dampner of a 12L? I was hoping someone made a custom fit one. I can not seem to find any.....thanks

I think Dan's R/C products makes some. They are little self adhesive teflon stick ons. They work great.

What is the teflon tape for? And do you need to use this on the 12L4?

Carpet rookie,
I dont know what size your spur is but 96 tooth is common. So if its 96 try a 25 or 26 tooth pinion with a monster motor as a start. JDXray, Lift the chassis in the center with a blade. If one tire lifts before the other then your "tweaked". If you have a tbar car then tighten the tweak screws in the front of the tbar to counter the lifting tire. Keep lifting and adjusting a little at a time till they are the same. If it is a carpet knife dampening tube style car then adjust the side spings from the main chassis to the rear pod. Also check that if lifting from the front that you dont have a lot of slop in your kingpins causing uneven lift. |
