Hey I`m currently using the LRP SXX TC SPEC V1 in my Associated 12R5.1

When I was using IB 5000mah 4.8v nimh batteries(cells)I had know trouble but since moving to LIPO 3.7v. I`ve had to add a 6.6volt LIFE reciever battery pack 200mah or the speedo would just shut down due to low voltage over a 8 minute run Mod it uses around 50mah from fully charged.

And when using a LIFE theres no need to use any voltage regulators

Hope this helps

Cheers Daniel

can give me info what brand and type the battery is?
thanks.
All the LRP speedos have a 6v output as standard so no need for a reciever pack

I do not use LRP but do all of them have a 6v BEC with a 1 cell, 3.7v input? That would mean that they all have a built in voltage booster, I don't think they do but I could be wrong.

Default 17.5 no timing rollout

okay, so what kind of rollout has anyone run with 17.5 no timing?

I realize that it will vary from track to track, but just trying to get a starting point.

Thanks

Yes the LRP SXX and SXX stock specs have built in boosters

TAKEN FROM LRP.COM

TwinBEC: A true BEC revolution! Constant 6V/3A output with 3.0V to 7.4V batteries. No receiver battery with 1S LiPo needed.

I knew that 1 or 2 of the newer ones did but the statment was all of them do and the older ones do not.

The track I was running has a 30m straight, and is fairly technical. Ran the car with 82mm rollout, and 45 deg advance (on the end bell). Worked rather well.

Shawn.

Thanks for the reply. We are currently running 13.5 with no timing and are running around 82.

I suppose different motors will also be different. 1s rotors too.

I did find a post where some were running over 100 for rollout. So, I guess I am still fishing for what others have found. Try to include what motor as part of the info.

AFAIK his point was the 6V boost didn't last him 8 minutes so he got the receiver pack.

Thanks Chris, I want to push the classes that are reasonably inexpensive to get into at a competitive level such as RCGT. I know they are tricky to setup but I think 1/12 would be a good class for a new club, plus if we get an indoor carpet track next winter we might have an established 1/12 class.
