Hey JR, I need to find a one-way setup in the next couple of weeks as I don't believe that reedy race setup will work very well with one-ways installed. As for gearing, I'm not sure on that one either, maybe Charlie or Corey Lewis can fill you in on that as they were both ballistic.

I did forget to mention that I run a front spool on my 415. Ran the car w/monster stock motor and handled way, way better than the 1st time I ran the car w/ 1-ways front & center. The only adjustments I made was lessen DR on the steering and no using of brakes. The front spool made a big improvement on the handling of the the 415 w/c sort of surprised me condsidering I still had the center 1-way.

The track at my LHS pretty much resembles the track layout of the Tamiya, CA (RROC'04). The spur gear I'm using right know is a 102T-64P and pinion size is 31T-64P which according to the manual gives the final gear ratio of 7.20.

Would the gearing be suitable for the track I'll be racing w/ medium bite as well? Set-up of the 415 is similar to Rod's (RtypeC) set-up used at the RROC'04 except w/a center 1-way layshaft (still working on that part but might as well wait for the one Tamiya's coming out with) and stock front bridge suspension mount D.

Any info re gearing will be appreciated. Thanks!
Jun... i have a set up for the 415 for low/med bite tracks. ill PM it to you... the track though had an extremely fast layout. my FDR was 5.8 for a reedy 19T quad mag (fixed timing). i was using a 78T spur (48P) and 29T pinion. my car was very fast too bad my driving couldnt keep up

Thanks Chris. But w/ that FDR you had, would'nt that fry your motor? The 19T x 1 motor I'm running is a BIRDMAN/Trinity one. Don't know if that would make a difference.

nope.. didnt fry mine... there were other guys who were geared higher... around 5.6. it does kill the brushes tho. ill try to find a picture of the track we ran on. it was very fast (lots of long straightaways) and only one spot where we had to let off to about half way on the throttle.

You do have a point there Chris... Track layout also determines the gearing/FDR as well. This is all new to me 'coz it's actually my 1st time to run a 19T motor. I'v been running stock ever since I started racing, but nowadays the guys @ my LHS have upgraded to the 19T class. Nobody (the last time I raced) was running stock anymore & I had to race that day w/ a 19T on my TRF414M SSG w/c I got the gearing info from the 414M thread. Did pretty good for my 1st outing w/ a 19T motor.....3rd place - B main.
