indeed, but you'll have to use longer dogbones, as the stock ones are too short with these outdrives. I suggest trying the MIP CVDs from the Assassin

Tighter belt will tend to have drag brake feel (because it is tighter) off throttle so that you could take corner faster.

Sorry, I'm not often been here lately.. but where do you guys have that ide of clipped belt? what cause the problem so that you try clipping the belt?

Also, in case have not been mention, do not use R side (see setting sheet) on front knucle (C1/C2) as you wont get full steering throw on TRF415. It's a whole different story with 414.

Clipped belts (or clipping every other tooth off) is a trick that alot of the Losi guys are doin in Stock. It helps make things smoother and more efficient, less drag.. blah blah blah....so they say. So since some of us have a couple spare belts laying around... it's something to try out. I wouldn't recommend it for mod though. I guess it's just part of the hobby of trying out different things. Modify this... modify that. Stuff like that.

As for belt tightening, I decided not to go past 3 clicks for the rear. I found that my diff had loosened a tad causing it to slip too much. So I'm hopping thats where I lost my acceleration off the line. We'll see later on this week or this weekend.

I think the reason clipping the belt works in the losi is because of the path of the belt. In the losi the belt tensioner pulls the belt back on itself and so the drive train is not as free as it would be if the belt was in line.

The 415, MY02, MI2 style of cars have the belts in line and would have less friction because of this, I think you could get the same effect by adjusting the tension on the belts.

From memory also the Losi belts tend to be much stiffer then the others which would also affect how well they work. I don't know if this is true of the new black belt.

Belt clipping is used by Losi team drivers because they're using a different internal ratio that needs cutting every other tooth in order not to catch. It's been take by other drivers because they thought it was to have afreer drive train.

I woulnd't clip them on any car.

i'm building my 415... What gearing should i use for a Monster stock and Reedy quad magnet 19T ? i'll be using 48pitch gears...

I also run my 415 in SoCal. The FDR is for the 415 should be no different than the other chassis. Depends on the layout I'd say between high 6 to high 7 is what I's use for Monster Stock. Not sure about 19T as I don't run it.

Also can someone tell me what size hex wrenches and nut drivers this kit uses? Just need to know what to order.

You need 2mm and 1.5mm hex wrench as well as 5.5mm and 7mm nut driver.
