Me and Bob would exchange ideas, get catty about younger forum member, bit mostly botch about our health.

I'm in the ICU again. Been having some pretty crazy, hallucination filled day. Not good hallucinations either

SAD!

Hang in there, fellow racer. Your contributions here are gold, and should continue for many more years!

Thank you for the explanation. I had to cut it off to fit the body. It would've been nice if they just replaced the front half of the chassis with V2 as well.

It's for the droop screws with the v2 arms. If your rules allow it (or you're not racing), feel free to cut it off with a hacksaw. It's disappointing that Tamiya didn't check if it would interfere with the Mini Cooper bodies.

Hey! My brain came back! It took an astounding number of tubes, medicines and smart medical types to make it happen. Now, let's bitch about the car that hasn't been released yet?

I wish you well buddy, but I found out the hard way that I needed to setup my weight issues(food intake+activity) just as carefully as I post here on rctech... This hobby can take a toll on the body, so I reserve Monday through Wednesday for some well needed physical activity... Get well soon...

I've been occasionally enjoying racing my mini at my local club with is on a really little track with a great friendly atmosphere and lots of kids in attendance. With the silver can I was mid pack, visibly slower than some car but it was just good fun.

Then I managed to get a brushless setup.

I went to another club quite close to me, and despite fighting some traction roll issues was less than a lap off the TQ and still having fun. Went back to the local club and got my ass handed to me. I was 2 laps slower than the slowest guy in the brushless class. My car had no drive out of the corners and it was so tipping I was carrying little corner speed.

Still fun but not as much.

The winner of that meeting pulled me to one side and gave me a talk about my car not being competitive and told me to do a bunch of stuff.

So I have ordered oil filled diff, MX5 body, 3racing shocks and the V2 chassis halves to be able to go to a shorty lipo.

Will report back :-D

You didn't have oil dampers? Those should make a noticeable difference.

antlockyer 04-25-2017 03:57 AM

I did but they were a mismatch of bits, CVA rears, the bodies of the 54000 at the front. I was never convinced that the fronts were right and I couldn't get the right ride height at the rear.

moistAF 04-25-2017 11:58 AM

Are the tamiya big bore dampers worth the extra $? Can I achieve 55mm length with tamiya m-chassis dampers? Thanks.

sakadachi 04-25-2017 04:25 PM

No. Just get the blue ones and run the larger hole pistons. I already forgot what the part number was since I haven't touched my RC in a while.

Hey Jim,
Hoping they let you out of the hospital soon, wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
Take care.
Regards
50 Cal

monkeyracing 04-26-2017 05:51 PM

Thanks, Cal. I'm out of the ICU and back on a regular unit. I should be free in a few days. Looking forward to less tubes, better food and sitting at the workbench.

Laguna Bozo 04-27-2017 12:33 AM

It's the simple things...

Glad your feeling better.

KA2AEV 04-27-2017 06:50 PM
