TCS minimum weight is 1300 grams.

Does anyone know if they make the oval packs for the shortys or are they rectangular only???

I have never seen a shorty "round" pack.

Wow! That's pretty light with a full size LiPo. Looking at my car, I can't imagine where else I could shave that much weight.

Alrighty. I've had my fun, made custom parts and made it go fast. Now it's your turn to hoon the bejesus out of a X-Evo! Fer sale on eBay. Not cheap, but worth it. If you ever need spares, I've got a CAD file with every single chassis piece.

I got mine down to 1295, added weight to get it back up to 1301 where i am at now. I put the extra weight in the front plastic bumper piece.

-got there by finding a light shorty pack battery, and using all the lightweight Tamiya parts, etc..

Sweet.

I can get my mini to around 1215g if the paint is extra thick.

gigaplex 03-29-2017 06:33 PM

My mini is about 1195g when I pull the lead off it, with a shorty battery.

My M03 is 1050g with shorty, ready to race!

bertrandsv87 03-30-2017 09:07 AM

Lots of lead in mine to reach 1300grams(nimh era rule) 1180grams for lipo minis would be great....

losibarry 03-30-2017 09:10 AM

Love the minis!

M03 with a shorty? Do tell! How much of a hole did you have to cut? I've tried this on one car, but figured the amount I had to remove weakened it too much.

They actually handle better with the extra weight. The Australian rules stick with 1330g specifically to encourage inexperienced drivers to run with a better handling car, and quite a few take it a bit further and pack on the weight to bring it up around 1400g.

tony gray 03-30-2017 04:15 PM

Correct, most of my cars are around 1400.

Laguna Bozo 03-30-2017 05:04 PM

Last weekend I was behind Jason, "the Champ", in the TCS tech line. His car was 1385g, mine was 1325g, he wooped me by half a lap.
