If you can run worn M grips up front and new on the rear. M05 V2 likes more front toe out to be stable. Rear camber I have found the less the better and car likes less rear toe in. I run only 1 degree on my car. I use a front shock tower with the shock on the 2nd outer hole and on the rear 1 hole out from standard. I only fit my shocks to the standard positions. I use a TOP racing oil gear diff with spacers to prevent side to side While running the car tuesday, I tried a few radio tricks to try to get the thing to drive better. I first tried expo. Dialed it up to 20%. And it made the car a little less predictable. That said, me, and expo, don't usually get along very well. I like linear responses from my inputs. (blame 30 years of non computer radios..) So I swapped it around to 80% travel, and no expo. That helped a lot. |
I miss Grandpa on this forum too, Cal, but mostly I miss him sitting across the table from me on Saturday mornings at Tamiya, with all his lively kibitzing and comments, donut crumbs dribbling from the corner of his mouth. We have a plaque, "Grandpa's corner", complete with a wreath of dusty plastic flowers, to remind us where he liked to crash. Life's short guys... enjoy.

just started running the M chassis(m05Rv2), i seem to have a 5mm gap at the top the steering post stay and steering link.any idea why?

Lagua! I never met the Gentleman in person, but we talked a couple of times on the telephone and numerous emails from here!!! He was extremely generous in his knowledge and life in general in helping out both myself and my Son (Golddust) with numerous car troubles! I sure wish Team Golddust Racing could have raced against Bob!!! |

Does anyone happen to know the outside diameter of a TA06 rear diff? I've got some nerding out I need to do.

I miss the exchange of thoughts we had regarding mini setups in general and some of the enlightening statements that were posted in this thread. I really appreciated the information I learnt and then tested. Not all was ever shared here, but then that would take away the mystique of working somethings out for yourself.
I am sure he still rolls his eyes at some of the antics on here. May he rest in peace. Might be gone, but never forgotten. |

Why did tamiya add the boxy protrusion at the rear end of m05 chassis? My m05 is built in short wheelbase, and it's sticking out far enough to interfere with the body.
